Today we are saluting the 1960s music industry-themed Tony Award-winning Best Musical that is set to hit the big screen in movie theaters nationwide this weekend, JERSEY BOYS.

Wells Fargo presented the evening Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the Skirball Cultural Center's new Guerin Pavilion/Herscher Hall in Los Angeles which was reported by event producer Luke Yankee to have raised $300,000. BWW TV's Los Angeles Correspondent and Co-Producer Michael Sterling along with Videographer and Co-Producer Jordan Santacana... celebrate The Independent Presenters Network and its June 4th opening night of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT Hollywood's Pantages with a run there that continues through June 22, 2014.The production, directed and choreographed by Tony® Award-Winner Andy Blankenbuehler, stars Ace Young as 'Joseph,' and Diana DeGarmo as the 'Narrator', both who stopped by the Red Carpet to talk about the show and its current U.S. National Tour. Joining the couple were such stars as Priscilla Presley, Judd Nelson, Doris Roberts, Peyton List, Kevin Chamberlin, John Gammon, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, Jacqueline Toboni, Lorenzo Lamas, Kay Cole, Kate Linder, Renee Marino, Sam Harris, Sharna Burgess, and Scott Wilson.

The film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical JERSEY BOYS will hit theaters on June 20th. Directed by Clint Eastwood, JERSEY BOYS, written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, features the music and lyrics of Bob Gaudio & Bob Crewe. Just yesterday, the Angelo Galasso House at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue) hosted a special New York City screening of the new film, and BroadwayWorld was there for the big event. Variety reports that Boardwalk Empire's Vincent Piazza, an early frontrunner for the role of 'Tommy Devito' in Clint Eastwood's upcoming film adaptation of the musical JERSEY BOYS, has officially joined the project.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Renee Marino, who currently plays 'Mary Delgado' in Jersey Boys on Broadway, will play the role in the upcoming big screen adaptation, which is to be directed by Clicnt Eastwood. Her other Broadway credits include: Wonderland and Chaplin.

Brave New World Enterprises, LLC has completed casting for its pre-Broadway workshop table reading of the new musical based on Aldous Huxley's novel, BRAVE NEW WORLD.

Masterworks Broadway will release the Original Broadway Cast Recording of the new musical CHAPLIN. Produced by Grammy-winner David Lai, the album will be available via digital download on December 4, 2012 with the CD following on January 8, 2013. The Original Cast Recording of CHAPLIN will also be available for purchase in the Barrymore Theatre.

Broadway's new musical CHAPLIN opened last night, September 10 at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). CHAPLIN is a new musical depicting the life of film icon Charlie Chaplin, with music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and book by three-time Tony Award-winner Thomas Meehan and Christopher Curtis.
