Last Monday night, the Addison Theatre Center was abuzz, eagerly anticipating the directorial debut of WaterTower Theatre's new Artistic director, Joanie Schultz and the play HIT THE WALL that she carried with her from her previous Chicago home, the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. When the house opened, actors milled about the stage, an enthusiastic indie band jamming away behind them, casually greeting ticket buyers as they took their seats. And, although we weren't yet sure if we were there to witness humor or horror, we entered ready for a riot.

WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz today announced casting and creative team details for the Regional Premiere of Hit the Wall by multi-award-winning playwright Ike Holter. Hit the Wall will be directed by Joanie Schultz, and marks her WTT directorial inauguration. Hit the Wall runs now through August 20th, 2017, in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

As WaterTower Theatre's anticipated production of HIT THE WALL approaches, cast member Joshua Gonzales documents the production process with this new vlog series, RUNNING RIOT. Episode 1: This week, Joshua landed in Texas from NYC for the first rehearsal of HIT THE WALL and the screening of the powerful documentary RAID OF THE RAINBOW LOUNGE, by filmmaker Robert L. Camina. Hit the Wall will run July 28th - August 20th, 2017, in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. The cast features Kelsey Leigh Ervi as Peg, Joshua Gonzales as Tano, Walter Lee as Carson, Gregory Lush as Cop, Camille Monae as Roberta, Stephen Rosenberger as Newbie, Rashaun Sibley as Mika, Garret Storms as Cliff, Jacie Hood Wenzel as Madeline, and Brandon Whitlock as A-Gay.

Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID debuted in movie theatres way back in 1989, but nearly twenty years of children singing "Kiss The Girl," "Part of your World," and "Pour Unfortunate Souls" led Disney to produce the celebrated story on a Broadway stage in 2009. And although the show lasted less than two years in New York, it is quickly becoming a staple among high schools, regional and youth theatres. Casa Manana's current production (using the edited "Junior" version of the script) is a shining example of what the show is written to inspire: fun and freedom!

Based on the classic animated film, Disney's The Little Mermaid, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its unforgettable songs including "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl" and "Part of Your World." When the mermaid, Princess Ariel, longs for a life out of the water, she bargains with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her fins for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs to help of her colorful friends Founder the fish, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea. This show is suitable for all audiences.
