Broadway's "Les Miserables" alums Adam Jacobs and Ali Ewoldt; musical theater writer Sam Carner ("Unlock'd," "Island Song"); concert producers Elton Lugay and Jona Jane Tajonera; and members of the singing group Broadway Barkada met the press last Wednesday evening at The Ugly Kitchen in the East Village to talk about their concert "A Heart Full of Love," starring Jacobs and Ewoldt, at The Town Hall (123 W 43rd St.) next Saturday, February 23 at 8 p.m.

La MaMa La Galleria to Exhibit 'From the Edge: Performance Design in the Divided States of America'

Bold, daring works from a United States national exposition of theatrical designs assembled for the 2011 Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space will be exhibited at the La MaMa La Galleria in New York City. An opening reception is slated for 7 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012, with many of the artists and designers exhibited in attendance.

Randy Gener, the New York-based editor, writer and artist, joins the country's first-ever recipients of the 2012 Filipino-American Heritage Achievement Awards. This national U.S. recognition honors Filipino Americans who, in the estimation of the Los Angeles Filipino Association of City Employees (LAFACE), 'helped shape the last 425 years of Fil-Ams in United States.'

On September 22, following force/collision's 8:00pm performance of the world premiere of Shape by Erik Ehn, there will be a talkback featuring the playwright (Maria Kizito, The Saint Plays), Daphne Brooks ("Bodies in Dissent: Spectacular Performances of Race and Freedom"), Randy Gener (American Theatre Magazine, Critical Stages) and John Moletress (Founding Director, force/collision). The discussion will begin approximately at 9:10pm in the Sprenger Theatre at Atlas Performing Arts Center located at 1333 H Street NE in Washington, D.C. The audience will have a chance to ask questions of the panelists regarding the production of Shape and their work.
