The Irish Repertory Theatre begins the ninth season of its Reading Series with Janet Noble's LOUISE BROOKS: FOR THE HELL OF IT. The staged reading will be held today, October 30 at 3pm at the DR2 Theater, 103 East 15th Street, the Irish Repertory Theatre's temporary home during its current renovation. Tickets are free, and the event is open to the public. An RSVP to 212-727-2737 is suggested.

PTP/NYC's 27th anniversary season opened on July 10 at The Atlantic Stage 2. The opening night party guests included five-time Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Jan Maxwell, Kristine Nielsen (Broadway: Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Jennifer Van Dyck (Broadway: Hedda Gabler, Dancing at Lughnasa and Two Shakespearean Actors), Quentin Mare (Broadway: Rock 'n' Roll, Coram Boy, Julius Caesar) and Stephanie Janssen (Broadway: Mrs. Warren's Profession). Last night, Primary Stages opened Happy Now? by Lucinda Coxon. With direction by Liz Diamond, the seven-member cast features Kate Arrington as Bea, Kelly AuCoin as Johnny, Mary Bacon as Kitty, Brian Keane as Carl, Joan MacIntosh as June, Quentin Mare as Miles and CJ Wilson as Michael.
