Show business' brightest stars memorialized one of their own yesterday, at A Tribute to Polly Bergen, at the American Airlines Theatre (227 W. 42nd Street). An Emmy Award-winning actress and singer, Ms. Bergen's career spanned more than six decades in films, TV, Broadway musicals and concerts. She passed away from natural causes September 20 at age 84. A Tribute to Polly Bergen, produced by Rex Reed and Michael Alden with creative consultant Deborah Grace Winer, celebrated her life and career with a star studded lineup of participants. They included Christine Andreas, Harry Belafonte, Arlene Dahl, Raul Esparza, Michael Feinstein, Gregory Harrison, Judith Ivey, Chris Matthews, Phyllis Newman, Kelli O'Hara and cast members from the 2001 revival of Follies.

Last night Cabaret aficionados gathered at 'Clip Joint' to see and hear rare footage of performances by Mabel Mercer, Bobby Short, Polly Bergen, Edith Piaf, Blossom Dearie, and many others.

Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Wiesenthal launches a limited 14-week engagement, from tonight, October 24 through February 1, at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row, (410 W. 42nd Street). Opening night is November 5.

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts held auditions on Thursday, October 9 for a Central Florida-based singer between the ages of 9-14 with the goal of finding one girl to perform in Broadway & Beyond at the Walt Disney Theater on November 15. Instead, four fortunate performers will make their debuts with an all-star, professional Broadway cast for the Grand Premiere of Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, presented by Dr. Phillips Charities and Balfour Beatty Construction.

Tony-nominated, Sundance Film Festival winner and Broadway and Off Broadway legend Charles Busch is finally heading to the UK for three performances only of his critically acclaimed cabaret act that has been playing to rave reviews and standing ovations around America including at the iconic 54 Below in New York.

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is seeking an Orlando-based singer between the ages of 9-14 to perform in Broadway & Beyond at the Walt Disney Theater on November 15. The selected singer will make her debut in a solo number with an all-star, professional Broadway cast for the Grand Premiere of Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Presented by Dr. Phillips Charities and Balfour Beatty Construction. The show is under the direction of renowned Broadway producer Richard Jay-Alexander and musical director Mary-Mitchell Campbell. Jay-Alexander will host the auditions with leaders from the Dr. Phillips Center.

Dame Angela Brigid Lansbury. I saw her in Mame, my first Broadway show seen ON BROADWAY at The Winter Garden Theatre from the front row of the mezzanine in seats my dad bought from a scalper because he knew I wanted to see it so badly. I would never recover from the splashy front of The Winter Garden Theatre.
