Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced it will once again present its popular, annual benefit evening STORIES ON 5 STORIES.

La Jolla Playhouse presents An Iliad, a one-man adaptation of Homer's classic tale, adapted by Denis O'Hare (Tony Award-winning actor in Take Me Out) and Lisa Peterson (director of The Playhouse's Surf Report and Be Aggressive), based on a translation by Robert Fagles, directed by Lisa Peterson. A co-production with Berkeley Repertory Theatre, An Iliad features Henry Woronicz as the "Poet," with Brian Ellingsen as the "Musician" and runs now through September 9 in the Mandell Weiss Forum. "Fiona Wallice" (Lisa Kudrow), television's worst online therapist, will add a second 'Friend' to her client roster as David Schwimmer guest stars on the SHOWTIME comedy series WEB THERAPY on Monday, August 20th at 11:00 PM ET/PT.

Playwrights Horizons begins accepting entries today, Wednesday, August 15, for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to DETROIT, the New York premiere of the much-heralded new play by Obie Award winner Lisa D'Amour. Ms. D'Amour is both a 2011 Pulitzer Prize finalist for this play and a 2011 Steinberg Playwright Award winner for her body of work. Directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Maple and Vine at Playwrights Horizons, Slowgirl, Stunning, Naked Angels' This Wide Night) in a completely new production, DETROITis being presented as the first production of the theater company's 2012/2013 Season.

Scott Adsit, Chris Bauer, Edie Falco, Dayle Reyfel, and Kyra Sedgwick will star in a benefit staged reading of Drama Desk Award winner and Emmy nominee Eugene Pack's new comedy, Columbus and Amsterdam, which will take place Friday, August 17 at 8pm at East Hampton's Guild Hall, 158 Main Street. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces that Obie Award-winning playwright Samuel D. Hunter will join the American Voices New Play Institute (AVNPI) as a yearlong resident playwright in 2013.

Mike Bartlett's hit play COCK plays its 100th performance today, August 11 at 8pm.

The Other Mirror presents Bite the Apple as part of the 16th annual New York International Fringe festival-FringeNYC. The dark comedy, written by Linda Manning, will have its first fully staged production directed by Katherine M. Carter.

The Colony Theatre presents the second production of its "Season of Premieres" with the West Coast Premiere Premiere of BLAME IT ON BECKETT, written by John Morogiello and directed by Andrew Barnicle. BLAME IT ON BECKETT opens tonight, Saturday, August 11 at 8:00pm and continues through Sunday, September 2 at The Colony Theatre, 555 North Third Street (at Cypress) adjacent to the Burbank Town Center.

Kef theatrical productions presents the New York premiere of Steven Strafford's METHTACULAR!, directed by kef theatrical productions' Artistic Director Adam Fitzgerald, with music Supervision and Arrangements by Grammy and two-time Emmy Award winner John McDaniel. Preview performances of METHTACULAR! begin Off-Broadway on August 30th prior to an official press opening of Sunday, September 2nd at the Playroom Theatre (151 West 46th Street) in Manhattan.

Sideshow Theatre Company has announced its full 2012/13 Season, which brings to light lingering secrets and apocalyptic preparations.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that Red Dog Howls, written by Alexander Dinelaris and directed by Ken Rus Schmoll, will begin performances Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at 7pm at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is scheduled for Monday, September 24 at 7pm.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of Through the Yellow Hour, a play written and directed by Adam Rapp (Pulitzer Prize finalist for Red Light Winter). The first production of the company's 18th season, Through the Yellow Hour will begin performances on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place-off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry and West 11th Streets). The cast includes Hani Furstenberg, Brian Mendes, Matt Pilieci, Danielle Slavick, Alok Tewari, Joanne Tucker, and Vladimir Versailles.

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) has launched The Saturday Arts Program (SAP), a training ground for passionate young performers. Classes will take place weekly from September 22nd - November 17th at the Bucks County Playhouse, New Hope Solebury High School, and the Solebury School.

Jared Zirilli (Lysistrata Jones, Fat Camp) and DJ Bucciarelli (Jesus Christ Superstar, National Tour) will join conceiver/co-librettist Cait Doyle (San Francisco Premiere The Last 5 Years, MAC Award Winner) in The Araca Project's upcoming production of Hot Mess In Manhattan scheduled to play the American Theatre of Actors later this summer.
