Yale Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of Sarah Ruhl's DEAR ELIZABETH, a play in letters from Elizabeth Bishop to Robert Lowell and back again, directed by Les Waters, at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street), November 30-December 22. Ken Davenport of Davenport Theatrical Enterprises presented a reading of the new play Schooled, written by Lisa Lewis and directed by Jules Ochoa, as part of the Davenport Developmental Reading Series. Schooled stars Tony nominee Peter Friedman (Playwrights Horizon's Circle Mirror Transformation), Sarah Steele (Lincoln Center Theatre/LCT3's Slowgirl), Harry Zittel (Lincoln Center Theatre/LCT3's All-American) and Zoe Winters (Lincoln Center Theatre/LCT3's 4000 Miles). 'Deceit' is a suspenseful and compelling play by Richard Ploetz that reveals how far some people are willing to take their lies to protect the fragile nature of 'being normal.' Theater for the New City will present the piece, directed by Andreas Robertz, January 10 to 27 in its Cino Theater.

Prospect Theater Company will present a staged reading of Rob Urbinati's original play Death By Design, a witty and wonderfully mysterious whodunit inspired by Noel Coward and Agatha Christie, on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2:15pm.

TheatreSquared will open Tenneessee Williams' only comedy, set on Christmas Eve and rarely seen since its 1961 premiere, this week in a new production directed by Broadway veteran Sean Patrick Reilly. After a disastrous wedding night, George deposits Isabel at the home of his old army buddy, Ralph-whose own wife has just walked out-and promptly disappears. The unexpectedly warmhearted and poignant drama that follows is vintage Williams, with all the hallmarks that have defined him as one of America's greatest playwrights.

Artistic Directors Bick Goss & Frank Evans and Board President Stephen Hanks present the new musical: "DRIVE" with book, music and Lyrics by Andy Monroe, Outer Critics Circle and Jonathan Larson Award Winner for 'THE KID.'

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) is accepting submissions for its 25th Annual Festival of New Musicals taking place in New York City at New World Stages on October 17 and 18, 2013. Submission information and the online application are available at www.namt.org/festival. NAMT is looking for great new musicals that represent the exciting diversity and breadth of the future of musical theatre.

Wendy Kaplan, President of MadKap Productions, will present the Chicago Premiere of SIDE EFFECTS MAY INCLUDE…, written by former Seinfeld writer Marc Jaffe and Emmy nominated playwright Eric Coble, previewing January 4, opening Friday, January 11 at 8 p.m., and running through February 10, 2013 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 North Lincoln Avenue.

Playwrights Horizons presents the World Premiere of The Great God Pan, a new play by Obie Award winner Amy Herzog (After the Revolution at PH, 4000 Miles). Directed by Carolyn Cantor (After the Revolution and Essential Self-Defense at PH, Pumpgirl, Orange Water Flower), the production is currently in previews and has an Opening Night set for Tuesday, December 18 at 7PM. Rosalind Productions Inc.'s Off-Broadway premiere of Jennifer Maisel's The Last Seder is set to open tonight, Tuesday December 4th (7pm). This Off-Broadway limited engagement at Theater Three (311 West 43rd Street) began December 1st and has been extended to January 13th. The show runs 100 minutes without an intermission.

The Huntington's Disease Society of America's annual Curtains Up For A Cure, produced by Broadway actress Meredith Patterson and hosted by Lance Rubin, will be presented tonight, December 3rd at Playwrights Horizons in Manhattan.

Overall, I'd recommend this production. Strong acting, strong singing, and a delicate treatment of the interesting material make this one to see.
