BORN FOR BROADWAY 2013, the fourth annual celebrity cabaret, featuring Broadway and TV stars donating their time and talent to raise money for paralysis-based organizations, took place at 54 Below last Monday, Sept. 30. Peter Scolari (TV- 'Girls,' 'Bosom Buddies,' Broadway- 'Lucky Guy'); Annaleigh Ashford (Tony nom, 'Kinky Boots'), Karen Akers (2 time Tony nom, original casts of 'Nine' and 'Grand Hotel'), Aaron Lazar ('Mamma Mia,' 'Les Miserables'), John Tartaglia (Tony nom, 'Avenue Q'),Howard McGillin (longest running Phantom in history, 2 time Tony nominee, 'Drood' and 'Anything Goes'), Ali Stroker (Glee Project/Glee) and others have join the cast of BORN FOR BROADWAY, the fourth annual celebrity cabaret, featuring Broadway and TV stars donating their time and talent to raise money for paralysis-based organizations has been announced. The evening will take place at 54 Below, 254 West 54th Street, on Monday September 30, 2013. Doors will open to the public at 8:45 PM with a 9:30 PM curtain. The Flea Theater will present the limited Off-Broadway engagement of FAMILY FURNITURE by A.R. Gurney. It is directed by Tony Award nominee Thomas Kail (In The Heights) starring Carolyn McCormick (Law & Order), Peter Scolari (Girls, Newhart, Bosom Buddies), and Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Newsies) with newcomers Ismenia Mendes and Molly Nordin. Previews begin November 12 at The Flea with opening slated for Sunday, November 24.

Dr. Barbara Kushner Performs Walk-On Role in Bay Street Theatre's 'FORUM'

Bay Street Theatre announces that longtime patron Dr. Barbara Kushner portrayed 'A Tourist' in this past Saturday's performance of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Dr. Kushner's performance was part of her 'Walk on Role' live auction package won at this year's Rock The Dock Summer Benefit Gala.

Directed by Peter Scolari, 'The Legend of Bobby Stone' also features Harris Doran, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Julia Mattison, Christy Carlson Romano, Sam Seder, Keala Settle, and Max von Essen. The reading takes place in midtown today July 1, at 2pm.

LUCKY GUY, starring two-time Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks, is now in its final performances on Broadway. The production, the final work by three-time Academy Award-nominee Nora Ephron and directed by two-time Tony Award-winner George C. Wolfe, was extended by popular demand through Wednesday, July 3 when it ends its record-breaking limited engagement at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street).

Producer Aaron Grant is announcing initial casting for the first of three plays that he plans to present this summer, as part of a new developmental reading series beginning July 1. Participating in the reading of Ben Andron's new comedy "The Legend of Bobby Stone and the Good Feeling Hat," are Harris Doran, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Julia Mattison, Christy Carlson Romano, Sam Seder, Keala Settle, and Max Von Essen. Peter Scolari directs. The reading takes place in midtown on Monday July 1, at 2pm.
