Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. will open its 30th and final season with the powerful war drama GUARDIANS by Peter Morris, directed by Arianna Soloway and featuring Jaci Entwisle and Adam Soule. GUARDIANS will play tonight, September 8, through October 18, 2015 at Angel Island, 735 W. After presenting more than 100 productions spanning three decades, Chicago's award-winning Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. has announced it will close its doors following its 30th anniversary season. The company's final season will open with Peter Morris' powerful war drama GUARDIANS, followed by three soon-to-be-announced production, plus its 28th annual Abbie Hoffman Died for Our Sins Theater Festival.

Hartford Stage Names Elizabeth Williamson New Associate Artistic Director

Hartford Stage Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak has promoted Elizabeth Williamson, currently Senior Dramaturg and Director of New Play Development for the Tony Award-winning theatre, to the position of Associate Artistic Director. She replaces Maxwell Williams, now Artistic Director of Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre in New Orleans.

Manhattan Theatre Club announces the upcoming Sloan Panel Discussion on Constellations, which will be held following the Thursday, January 15 performance of the play at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street), and is open to anyone attending the evening's performance. The panel, which will be presented in partnership with the World Science Festival, will focus on the role of science in the play and will feature playwright Nick Payne and Brian Greene, professor of Physics and Mathematics at Columbia University and co-founder of the World Science Festival. Social commentator Faith Salie will moderate.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, over the course of the spring, Alessandrini had planned on adding new material to reflect the season's openings. GUARDIANS Talkbacks Set for 2/7-8 at Burgdorff Center

Where is the line between torture and enhanced interrogation? Is this a question that should concern civilian citizens of a democracy that employs such techniques with enemy combatants? These issues will be considered when Dr. Robert Pallitto of Seton Hall University and Madelyn Hoffman of New Jersey Peace Action join Theater Project audiences to discuss the play GUARDIANS by Peter Morris. Talk-back sessions will follow each performance. The two character play GUARDIANS examines the motives of a male journalist and a female soldier involved in the Abu Ghraib torture scandals. Although the facility is now under Iraqi control, disturbing questions remain: Is "enhanced interrogation" ever justified? What are the unintended consequences on the system, the society and the individuals who carry it out?
