The Dallas Opera is the proud recipient of two extraordinary new gifts, totaling $2 million, from The Eugene McDermott Foundation and Mrs. Eugene (Margaret) McDermott, who have requested that the position of Dallas Opera General Director and CEO be known henceforth as the “Kern Wildenthal General Director and CEO” in honor of the longtime Dallas Opera Board Member and Past Chairman. Dr. Wildenthal currently serves the company as an Officer-at-large on TDO's Executive Committee.

Ronacher wurden Kunstlerinnen und Kunstler fur ihre Leistungen in der Spielsaison 2013/14 in elf Kategorien ausgezeichnet. Die Preistrager fur das Lebenswerk (Neil Shicoff), fur das Beste Festival (Wiener Festwochen | Markus Hinterhauser) sowie der ORFIII Preis an Piotr Beczala standen bereits im Vorfeld fest. Der Krone Musicalpreis ging an Uwe Kroger.

Verdi's epic romantic and political drama, which hasn't been seen in Washington in nearly 25 years, will be presented in a daring and visually striking new production directed by WNO Artistic Director Francesca Zambello. Conductor Xian Zhang, in her WNO debut, leads the WNO Orchestra in interpreting some of Verdi's most beautiful melodies.
