WaterTower Theatre today announced the cast for the new musical Dogfight, with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, book by Peter Duchan, running July 25 - August 17, 2014 at the Addison Theatre Centre. The ensemble cast stars Zak Reynolds at Eddie Birdlace; Juliette Talley as Rose Fenny; Kyle Igneczi as Boland; Matt Ransdell, Jr. as Bernstein; Beth Albright as Marcy/Ensemble; Branden Loera as Fector/Ensemble; Matthew Silar as Gibbs/Ensemble; Joseph Burnam as Stevens/Ensemble; Stephanie Riggs as Mama/Ensemble; Aubrey Ferguson as Ruth Two Bears/Ensemble and Steve Barcus as the Lounge Singer/Ensemble.

Second Stage Theatre's 35th Anniversary Gala celebration just honored Carole Rothman, Artistic Director of Second StageTheatre, for her 35 years of supporting new works and artistic development in New York City theatre. This year's rock n' roll themed gala was attended by over 250 Second Stage Alumni who have worked at Second Stage Theatre during the past 35 years, from Brooke Adams and Polly Draper who appeared in the very first season, to cast members from the currently running The Substance of Fire and the upcoming American Hero which will make its New York premiere this summer at Second Stage Uptown. Directing the season opener, Hank Williams: Lost Highway (October 11-November 3, 2013) will be Michael Serrecchia. The Game's Afoot (or Holmes for the Holidays) (December 13- January 5, 2014) will be directed by Robin Armstrong. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (January 24-February 16, 2014) will be directed by Emily Scott Banks. Spunk (April 11-May 4, 2014) will be directed by Akin Babatunde.Good People (June 6-29, 2014) will be directed by Rene Moreno and Dogfight (July 25-August 17, 2014) will be directed by Terry Martin.

As part of their Start Up Stagings Initiative, The Intiman Theatre is currently presenting a brand new musical in progress, "Stu For Silverton" included in the Intiman Theatre Festival running through this summer. And while it's a little too soon to give a critical review of the piece as it's still being developed, I can share with you some images from the show and a bit of a synopsis (and maybe a quick opinion or two).

Lindsay Mendez and Derek Klena recently joined the cast of Wicked, assuming the roles of Elphaba and Fiyero. They join a cast which includes Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, Randy Danson as Madame Morrible, Adam Grupper as The Wizard, Catherine Charlebois as Nessarose, F. Michael Haynie as Boq, and John Schiappa as Dr. Dillamond. Check out a first look at the duo in action below!

Beginning performances today, May 28, 2013, Lindsay Mendez will assume the role of Elphaba in the Broadway production of WICKED. Ms. Mendez has previously worked with both the composer and director of WICKED, having appeared in the 2011 Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's Godspell, and, more recently, giving a breakout performance in the world premiere musical, Dogfight, staged by WICKED director Joe Mantello.
