OperaDelaware (OD) announced today that it completed its 2014 fiscal year in the black, thanks to increased support from individual donors, the State of Delaware, and others. Moving forward, OperaDelaware will shift the majority of its artistic output to a 'festival' format designed to attract opera lovers to the Brandywine Valley.

Simon Stephens is one of Britain's foremost playwrights whose work includes Motortown (Royal court), Harper Regan(Royal National Theatre) and Wonderland (Royal Court Theatre). His multi-award adaptation of The Curious Incident of The Dog in The Night transferred from the National to the West-End and recently opened on Broadway.

Today's Empty Space...Peter Brook Award 25th Anniversary award ceremony at the National Theatre Studio had Thelma Holt, the presenter, give the winner the cheque for £2000 to the Unicorn Theatre for its wonderful introduction to the classics as well as contemporary theatre for children. All nominees Theatre503, Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory, Park Theatre, Union Theatre, and the Orange Tree Theatre received a certificate and critic's speech for distinctive work.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced the publication of Peter Brook's The Quality of Mercy: Reflections on Shakespeare, in which one of the world's most revered theatre directors reflects on the world's most revered playwright.

The National Theatre production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, the acclaimed new play by Simon Stephens, adapted from Mark Haddon's best-selling novel, directed by Tony Award-winner Marianne Elliott, officially opened on Broadway on October 5 at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). Renowned director, Peter Brook, has stripped the production of all unnecessary accoutrements in order to focus entirely on the story.

According to The Telegraph, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Sir Ian McKellen will unite to lead a new screen adaptation of the play THE DRESSER for the network. Sir Richard Eyre will direct.

State Theatre Company and Adina Apartment Hotels in association with Arts Projects Australia and the Adelaide Festival Centre present PETER BROOK'S THE SUIT in a run exclusive to Adelaide from the Theatre des Bouffes du Nord. Based on THE SUIT by Can Themba, Mothobi Mutloatse and Barney Simon, the production will run today 1 October through 12 October 2014, with an opening slated for Friday 3 October at 8pm at the Dunstan Playhouse, Adelaide Festival Centre.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Joseph Kaiser will no longer be participating in the Sunday, September 21st performance of Voce: Rising Opera Stars in Recital. Paul Appleby (tenor) and Andrew Garland (baritone) will be joining Julia Bullock (soprano) and pianist, Steven Blier for the afternoon featuring French and American repertories.

Today OZ, Nashville's first contemporary arts center, announces its 2014-15 season, which runs today, September 12, 2014 - June 27, 2015. The season is bookended by premieres, beginning with two performances (September 12 & 13) of Tim Robbins' interpretation of A Midsummer Night's Dream, produced and acted by the company he founded and leads, The Actors' Gang, in the production's first U.S. engagement outside of the company's home theater in Los Angeles. OZ's 2014-15 program will conclude with the world premiere (June 18-20) of Memory Rings, the latest multi-media stage production from innovative New York City-based puppetry collective Phantom Limb Company.

During the run of The Valley of Astonishment, written and directed by Peter Brook and Marie-Helene Estienne, Theatre for a New Audience will honor Mr. Brook's achievements with Celebrating Peter Brook, a series of events designed to explore the life of his work.

The United States premiere of the internationally acclaimed new work written and directed by Peter Brook and Marie-Helene Estienne, The Valley of Astonishment, featuring Kathryn Hunter (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Kafka's Monkey), Marcello Magni (Fragments), and Jared McNeill (The Suit), begins previews Sunday, September 14, at 7:30pm for an opening Thursday, September 18,at 7:30pm and a run through Sunday, October 5, at Theatre for a New Audience, Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place.
