Today's Empty Space...Peter Brook Award 25th Anniversary award ceremony at the National Theatre Studio had Thelma Holt, the presenter, give the winner the cheque for £2000 to the Unicorn Theatre for its wonderful introduction to the classics as well as contemporary theatre for children. All nominees Theatre503, Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory, Park Theatre, Union Theatre, and the Orange Tree Theatre received a certificate and critic's speech for distinctive work.

Peter Brook's THE SUIT Comes to Adelaide Festival Centre, Now thru Oct 12

State Theatre Company and Adina Apartment Hotels in association with Arts Projects Australia and the Adelaide Festival Centre present PETER BROOK'S THE SUIT in a run exclusive to Adelaide from the Theatre des Bouffes du Nord. Based on THE SUIT by Can Themba, Mothobi Mutloatse and Barney Simon, the production will run today 1 October through 12 October 2014, with an opening slated for Friday 3 October at 8pm at the Dunstan Playhouse, Adelaide Festival Centre.

The season is bookended by premieres, beginning with two performances (September 12 & 13) of Tim Robbins' interpretation of A Midsummer Night's Dream, produced and acted by the company he founded and leads, The Actors' Gang, in the production's first U.S. engagement outside of the company's home theater in Los Angeles.
