The Boston University College of Fine Arts (CFA) is pleased to present their second annual InCite Arts Festival, 'InCite 2009: Art Never Backs Down,' taking place March 3 - 10, 2009 in New York City. Conceived to showcase the dynamic artistic strengths and synergy of the College's schools of Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts, the festival offers new and interdisciplinary programming that boasts an eclectic and compelling combination of titles and artists. Throughout history, art's response to bad times has been to endure, using creativity and wit, and InCite epitomizes that response.

Sherman Cymru's hit production, Deep Cut, which received critical acclaim and won numerous awards at last year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, will open at London's Tricycle Theatre this March. Winner of a Scotsman Fringe Fringe First, Herald Angel, the Amnesty Freedom of Expression Award and both Best Actress (Rhian Blythe) and Best Actor (Ciaran McIntyre) at the Stage Awards for Acting Excellence, Deep Cut was one of the must see shows of the Edinburgh Festival. The rights to the play have now been optioned by Michael Winterbottom and Andrew Eaton's company Revolution Films and a screenplay is currently in development.

Rhoda Herrick has just announced that Garden of Earthly Delights will be extending its run for the second consecutive time, continuing through Sunday, May 31 at the Minetta Lane Theatre (18 Minetta Lane). The show, which opened to rave reviews on November 19, began previews on November 8 and was originally slated to run through January 18. The first extension would run through March 1 before the latest announcement today. Tickets for this extension are currently on sale through Ticketmaster; www.Ticketmaster.com or (212) 307-4100. Margaret Selby of CAMI Spectrum is booking an international tour for the 2009/2010 season.

Theatre for a New Audience and director, Arin Arbus, is set to present Othello. The show will feature John Douglas Thompson as Othello, Ned Eisenberg as Iago, and Juliet Rylance as Desdemona. Previews begin February 14 at 7 pm. The show opens February 22.

Peter Brook has stated that he would slowly hand over his position as stage director with the Paris theater. He will give the position to two young directors, Olivier Mantei and Olivier Poubelle. They will run the Bouffes du Nord, the company through which he has staged his famed productions. Mantei and Poubelle should hold the full position by 2011.

The Rising Phoenix Repertory and Piece by Piece production opened Tuesday, December 9, to rave reviews as part of New York Theatre Workshop's Jonathan Larson Lab. All performances are sold out.
