Director Casey McClellan again brings a World War II era piece to the Sacramento Theatre Company and makes it relevant to what we are experiencing today. Like last season's The Glass Menagerie, The Diary of Anne Frank deals with the human emotions brought on by betrayal, loss, and, ultimately, hope.

Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy. These words will come alive again as Cleveland Play House produces The Diary of Anne Frank, providing an immersive experience for the audience in this adaptation never-before seen on the CPH stage.

In Roger Grunwald's THE OBLIGATION a Jewish-American comedian, a survivor, a half-Jewish German soldier and an SS General explore the dark history of their and our world. Through drama and humor, Grunwald explores little-known aspects of The Holocaust and the post-war survivor experience and asks: Who decides what culture, race and ethnicity mean? What is identity? Why do we demonize "the other"?  THE OBLIGATION is a dramatic reminder of the importance of heeding the lessons of The Holocaust and of the dangers facing society when we acquiesce in the face of prejudice and hatred. The World Premiere of THE OBLIGATION, written & performed by Roger Grunwald is presented by The Mitzvah Project and PlayGround running October 12-November 5, 2017(Press Night Saturday October 14) at the Potrero Stage 1695 18th Street in San Francisco.

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, continues its 2016/17 season with The Mystery of Love & Sex written by Bathsheba Doran and directed by Marti Lyons. The production runs April 5 - July 2, 2017 in The Gillian Theatre, 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe. The Press Opening is Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.

When the Nazis arrested 15-year-old Anne Frank in 1944, her diary was tucked away in a briefcase, and had the Nazis not dumped its contents during a search for what they might call 'valuables,' the diary would have been lost to time. 

Anne Frank's diary, filled with hope against inescapable oppression, has captivated audiences around the world for well over half a century. Audiences will discover a new relevance to this well-known story of the 15-year-old girl who died a victim of genocide when Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) presents And Then They Came For Me: Remembering The World Of Anne Frank by Jim Still. The JCTC production of this acclaimed play features a multicultural cast, a world-renowned guest speaker and an exhibit of visual arts on themes of oppression and the Holocaust in the Merseles Studios art gallery.

A timeless testament to the human spirit that resonates through generations, The Diary of Anne Frank plays November 4-20, 2016 at the Lucie Stern Theater, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, and is directed by Dennis Lickteig, with Roneet Aliza Rahamim of Palo Alto in the title role.
