The Nuyorican Poets Cafe presents the Poetic Heritage Festival, a retrospective series of poetry, theater and music events during the fall and winter of 2010. The Poetic Heritage Festival celebrates the work of distinguished artists - including Miguel Algarin, Ishmael Reed, Amiri Baraka Sandra Maria Esteves and Ntozake Shange - who are closely associated with the creation and history of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. This festival is made possible in part by the generous support of the National Endowment for the Arts' American Masterpieces Program. All events in the Poetic Heritage Festival will take place at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe's multi-arts performance space at 236 East 3rd Street, between Avenues B and C. World Premiere Of Michael McKeever's 'South Beach Babylon'

Zoetic Stage and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County present the world premiere of SOUTH BEACH BABYLON, a wickedly funny, sexy new play by acclaimed Miami playwright Michael McKeever. This production launches Zoetic Stage's inaugural season and will be directed by the company's Artistic Director Stuart Meltzer, featuring an all-star cast of South Florida's best and brightest actors. SOUTH BEACH BABYLON will run December 2-12, 2010 in the Carnival Studio Theater in the Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House.

Tyler Perry's next film, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, which is set to star Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, and Macy Gray, has been given a November 5 release date, Variety reveals. Filming began in June. The release had initially been announced for January 2011.
