The Flea Theater presents the New York premiere of Kristiana Colon's but i cd only whisper, directed by Resident Director David Monteagudo and featuring members of The Bats, The Flea's resident acting company. Previews start February 18, with opening night slated for Monday, February 29.

Niegel Smith, Artistic Director and Carol Ostrow, Producing Director of The Flea Theater announced today the slate for the spring season, featuring two World Premieres and one US Premiere. Continuing a long-standing relationship with The Flea, Adam Rapp will be returning with Wolf in the River, which he also directs. The Flea is also excited to welcome two new playwrights, Kristiana Colon and Sarah Gancher. Gancher's The Place We Built will be directed by Flea Resident Director Danya Taymor while Colon's but I cd only whisper will be directed by Resident Director David Monteagudo.

BroadwayWorld is excited to report initial casting for The Public Theater's New York premiere of HEAD OF PASSES, written by Tarell Alvin McCraney and directed by Tina Landau. Phylicia Rashad returns to The Public to play 'Shelah' in this deeply moving new drama about family, acceptance, and the power of faith. Rashad last appeared at The Public in THE STORY by Tracey Scott Wilson in 2003. The historic and groundbreaking drama runs tonight, September 16 - September 24 in the Randall Theater.

Temple Theaters, with Temple University's Division of Theater, Film and Media Arts, welcomes playwright Nzotake Shange and Broadway director Oz Scott to the Temple Performing Arts Center (TPAC) on Sunday, September 20 at 4:00 pm. Lincoln Center Out of Doors one of the country's longest-running, free, summer outdoor festivals opens its 45th season on July 22, 2015. The Lilly Awards Foundation, celebrating and honoring women of distinction in American theater, held their 6th Annual Lilly Awards Ceremony last night, June 1, 2015 at Playwrights Horizons (416 West 42nd Street) that was hosted by twice nominated 2015 Tony Award nominee Lisa Kron (Fun Home).

The 2015 winners of the Lilly Awards, celebrating and honoring women of distinction in American theater, were recently announced by The Lilly Awards Foundation. The winners will be celebrated at the 6th Annual Lilly Awards Ceremony tonight, June 1, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Playwrights Horizons (416 West 42nd Street) and hosted by double 2015 Tony Award nominee Lisa Kron (Fun Home).

 Margot Harley, who co-founded The Acting Company with John Houseman in 1972, will step down as its Producer effective the end of this year.  The Acting Company began with the first graduating class of Juilliard's Drama Division, which included Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, David Schramm and David Ogden Stiers.  "They were classically trained, superbly talented and had worked together for four years," stated Ms. Harley.

Theatre Nuvo and The T.R.U.T.H. Project Inc. have teamed up to present a thought provoking night of social justice theatre and a panel discussion.

The new play by Katori Hall (The Mountaintop, Our Lady of Kibeho) is directed by Kamilah Forbes and runs now through June 7, 2015 in the Kreeger Theater.
