Tickets are now on sale for The Araca Group's third annual Araca Project featuring six original productions including three plays, a research based theatrical event and a sketch/variety show. Performances begin September 3rd, 2013 at The American Theatre for Actors in New York City (314 W 54th St, New York, NY 10019).
Mary-Arrchie Theatre to Reopen UNCLE BOB at Angel Island, 8/15-9/1

Mary-Arrchie Theater Co. has decided to re-open it's production of Austin Pendleton's Uncle Bob on August 15, 2013 at 8 p.m. It will run Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. until September 1. Tickets will be $25. There will be no performance on Sunday, August 25. It will be mounted at Angel Island which is at 735 W. Sheridan in Chicago, Illinois. There is parking available at the Mobil Gas station across from the theater for a price to be determined by Mobil.
Pianist Ursula Oppens to Play Music Mountain, 8/25

The distinguished American pianist Ursula Oppens will perform Faure's Piano Quintet No. 1 in D Minor with the Cassatt Quartet at Music Mountain on Sunday afternoon, August 25th, at 3:00 p.m. at Gordon Hall, 225 Music Mountain Rd., Falls Village, CT. The program will also include works by Shostakovich and Beethoven.
Joseph R. Wilson Named Executive Director of Musiqa; Two New Board Members Appointed

Musiqa, Houston's nationally recognized new music chamber group, elected two new board members at its July 20th board meeting, Kathleen A. Boyd and David Medina. In addition, the board re-elected three previous board members, elected Barbara Ostdiek, Associate Professor of Finance at Rice University's Jones School of Business, as Secretary and hired Joseph R. Wilson as its full-time Executive Director. Wilson had been serving as Interim Executive Director since July 2012.

Mexico City-based company La Piara in collaboration with Chicago writers/directors Seth Bockley and Devon de Mayo (who previously co-wrote and co-directed As Told by the Vivian Girls for Dog & Pony Theatre Company as part of Steppenwolf's Garage Rep) returns to Chicago with its satirical physical comedy Guerra: A Clown Play at Links Hall, 3111 N. Western Ave., for seven performances, today, July 26-Aug. 4. The piece was previously performed in Chicago at Millennium Park in March 2012.
