Philippe Treuille's REQUIEM to Premiere 1/30 at Church of the Incarnation

Philippe Treuille's Requiem will receive its world premiere on Friday, January 30th, 2015, at 8:00 PM, at the Church of the Incarnation, in New York City. The 9-movement work is the first large-scale work by the NYC-based, Juilliard-trained composer, and will feature 50 performers from the Symphony Chorus, conducted by maestro Henric Idestrom. The hour-long Requiem blends traditional and modern compositional techniques, with a choir of 28 including 4 soloists and a 22-piece orchestra. The text is drawn entirely from the original Latin Mass for the dead.

Goodman Theatre, in collaboration with Chicago's various off-Loop theaters and Northwestern University, unveils partial programming in its spring 2015 citywide "August Wilson Celebration" -- an extensive retrospective of the late playwright's life, artistry and influence on American culture. The seven-week Celebration takes place in March and April 2015 on dual landmark occasions: the 70th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright's birth and the 10th anniversary of his death.

Centenary Stage Company to Offer Playwrighting Course

The Centenary Stage Company will offer a special Playwrighting Class this winter, which will be open to the public. The class will be taught by Playwrights Theatre of NJ Executive Director, John Pietrowski, and will be held on Tuesdays from 6-9 PM, from Jan. 20th through May 5. The cost of the class will be $250.
