December 22, 2014 - Richmond, Virginia Experience Stravinsky: Pulcinella Suite on Sunday, January 11 at 3:00 pm at Randolph-Macon College. This is the third Amtrak Metro Collection concert of the 2014-2015 season and will be led by special guest conductor, Victor Yampolsky.

Esteemed teacher, conductor and violinist Victor Yampolsky has been Director of Orchestras at the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music since 1984. He has also been principal conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra in Johannesburg and Music Director of the Omaha Symphony, and has conducted over 86 professional and student orchestras throughout the world.

The concert begins with Johann Sebastian Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major, a piece considered to be one of the crown jewels of the Baroque era. The Bach is followed by Stravinsky's Pulcinella Suite, inspired by the music of the Baroque composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. The program also includes Mozart's Serenade No. 12 in C minor and Johann Christian Bach's Symphony in D Major, Opus 18.

A FREE pre-concert talk will be held from 2:00 - 2:30 pm in the Dollar Tree Community Room on the second floor of Brock Commons.

Ticket prices are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $10 for children, and $5 at the door for college students and faculty with ID.
