Broadway Diva N'Kenge to Join the Indianapolis Symphony Next Month

Known for her powerful and riveting vocals, Broadway's Darling N'Kenge (Motown: The Musical and Sondheim and Sondheim) will grace the stage in a Broadway Diva's collaboration with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductor, Jack Everly for four concerts. Performances at the Hilbert Circle Theatre will be Friday, October 2 at 11:00am (which is a truncated program for the Coffee Pops Series) and 8:00PM; Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 8:00pm and Sunday, Oct 4, 2015 the Broadway Divas concert will move to Honeywell Center in Wabash, IN for a 3:00PM show.

Most people in the Broadway community know about The Broadway Dreams Foundation, the country's premier performing arts education foundation. Their faculty members are some of the communities most prominent and successful performers; such as Nick Adams, Tituss Burgess, Norm Lewis, Leslie Odom Jr., Nicholas Rodriguez, Morgan James, Stafford Arima, Nicole Parker, Spencer Liff, Taye Diggs, and the list goes on. But like most great nonprofits, it's the people behind the scenes that are funding such programs and working every day to make a difference.

Beginning Monday, October 5th, Jennifer Diamond will assume the roles of Louise Lerman and Eve Allabout in RUTHLESS! The Musical at St. Luke's Theatre in the heart of the Theatre District. She's replacing Tracy Jai Edwards who is departing the show to appear in the new musical Gotta Dance, directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell.

According to Reuters, 'Queen of Soul' Aretha Franklin and acclaimed Irish tenor Anthony Kearns are slated for Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia later this month. The two singers will appear on Saturday, September 26, at the World Meeting of Families festival, and before the Pope's Mass on Sunday, September 27, 2015.

The Public Theater will kick off the 2015-16 season in September with a free Public Works musical adaptation of Homer's THE ODYSSEY, conceived and directed by Public Works Director Lear deBessonet, with music, lyrics and book by Todd Almond. THE ODYSSEY will once again feature over 200 actors and community members alongside five equity actors, including this year Brandon Victor Dixon as Odysseus and Karen Olivo as Penelope.

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced details of the world premiere of Donald Fowler's musical CREEP. The musical will open WaterTower Theatre's 2015-2016 Season on Monday, October 5, 2015 (with previews on Friday, October 2, Saturday, October 3, and a Gala Preview performance on Sunday, October 4). Kate Galvin, Associate Producer at the 11th Hour Theatre Company in Philadelphia, will direct. CREEP is produced by Terry Martin.
