It's a big week ahead for composer/lyricist Shaina Taub, whose score for the Public Theater's Public Works production of a new musical adaptation of Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT premieres this weekend.

Back by popular demand, THE BOOK OF MORMON, which played sold out and record breaking runs in 2013 and 2014, returns for a third engagement in Dallas for two weeks beginning Tuesday, December 20 through Sunday, December 31, 2016 at the Winspear Opera House in the Dallas Arts District. Single tickets go on sale today, August 29 at 10 a.m.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was thrilled to present multi-Grammy and Tony Award-nominated composer/producer Frank Wildhorn and Tony Award-nominated singer/actress Keala Settle (currently starring in Waitress) in 'Keala Settle & Frank Wildhorn: For The First Time LIVE' on Monday night.

On Friday, August 5th, the students of Broadway Artists Alliance received a visit from Tony Award winner, Jessie Mueller. She charmed them from the first moment when she sat down for her interview and rescued an eyelash from Artistic Director Jennifer Johns' cheek so that she could make a wish. Public Works, The Public Theater's local and national initiative that invites diverse communities across New York to join in creating ambitious works of theater, celebrates its fourth year with a new musical adaptation of Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present NY1 theater journalist Frank DiLella back on the Birdland stage, with the sixth episode of his new talk show, 'Show Biz After Hours With Frank DiLella.'  Frank's very special guests were Nikki M. James ('BrainDead,' Book of Mormon), Max von Essen (An American in Paris), Laura Michelle Kelly (Finding Neverland), Michael Longoria (Jersey Boys) and the vocal group 'Range.' 

Last night Laura Michelle Kelly performed Meadowlark at Birdland Jazz Club in New York City and BroadwayWorld was on hand to bring the performance LIVE to our fans on Facebook! BroadwayWorld and Birdland are thrilled to present live performances from Broadway performers as part of the Broadway at Birdland series on our Facebook page on Monday nights!

The national tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards® including Best Musical, announced today that single tickets will go on sale Saturday, August 13 at 10:00 a.m.

The Public Theater will kick off the 2016-17 season in September with a free Public Works musical adaptation of TWELFTH NIGHT, conceived by Kwame Kwei-Armah and Shaina Taub, with music and lyrics by Shaina Taub. Directed by Kwame Kwei-Armah, TWELFTH NIGHT will once again feature over 200 actors and community members alongside five equity actors, including this year Nikki M. James as Viola and Jose Llana as Orsino.

Paper Mill Playhouse, recipient of the 2016 Tony Award for Regional Theatre, has selected students to be a part of the theater's prestigious Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory for 2016.

On July 21st, the students of Broadway Artists Alliance of NYC were tearfully overjoyed by a surprise visit from Hamilton star Renee Elise Goldsberry. Recently winning a Tony Award and Grammy for her role as Angelica Schuyler, Goldsberry spoke about the incredible journey that Hamilton has taken from workshopping a concept, to performing at The Public and moving to the Richard Rodgers Theatre, to earning 16 Tony nominations and winning a Pulitzer Prize. Goldsberry captivated the students of Broadway Artists Alliance during a lively Q&A where she offered generous advice. Scroll down for photos from her appearance!

Tony Award Winner, Laura Benanti, delighted the students of Broadway Artists Alliance's Summer Intensive program with a surprise visit this past Thursday! Benanti, who recently finished up a successful run of She Loves Me (2016 Tony Nomination for Leading Actress in a Musical), was as inciteful and entertaining off stage as she is on, during her Q&A with these aspiring young professionals. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) just hosted its 6th Annual GenR Summer Party. GenR, short for Generation Rescue, is a group of young and influential humanitarians who have joined forces with the IRC to help people affected by crisis to survive and rebuild their lives. Proceeds from this event support the IRC's critical humanitarian work.
