Producers of HAIRSPRAY, the Tony winning Best Musical, have announced that the show will close on Jan. 4, 2009.

Broadway Loves Joe's Pub happens Sunday, November 2. Hosted by Judy Gold, and featuring Laura Benanti, Cady Huffman, Gavin Creel, Steven Pasquale, Hairspray's Nikki Blonsky and Rent's Will Chase. The performers will be reprising songs they have performed in previous Joe's Pub events.

Jamie McGonnigal will present 'Broadway Loves Joe's Pub' a concert featuring the best of the best from the Broadway concerts at Joe's Pub over the last ten years. Directed by McGonnigal with Music Direction by Lynne Shankel (Cry-Baby, Altar Boyz) 'Broadway Loves Joe's Pub' will happen Sunday, November 2 at 9:30PM at Joe's Pub, 425 Lafayette Street, NY. Emmy Award-Winning Actress and Comedian, Judy Gold will be hosting the celebration.

The Broadway Workshop, Manhattan's fastest growing acting program for young artists, has teamed up with TV and movie star Nikki Blonsky, for its next one day musical workshop. THE HAIRSPRAY WORKSHOP will take place November 1, 2008 in New York City

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed 'Best of New York' by New York Magazine and 'an invaluable New York institution' by The New York Post, will continue its 10th Anniversary season with Hairspray film star NIKKI BLONSKY from September 23 to October 4. The Long Island native returns to her home city for her nightclub debut 'Coming Home,' which features songs from Broadway, the Great American Songbook and pop classics. Highlights will include the Bonnie Raitt favorite 'Something To Talk About,' the Frank Wildhorn hit 'Big Time' and selections from Hairspray. Musical Director Patti Dunham will conduct the band. Nikki will be dressed by IGIGI. All shows take place at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

Variety reports that New Line Cinema has just made a deal with John Waters, Hairspray's creator to pen a treatment for a sequel to the hit film. Also set to return are director/choreographer Adam Shankman, the song-writing team of Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, and producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
