Theatre Aspen has announced a partnership with The Wheeler Opera House for the fourth annual Aspen Theatre Festival. The collaboration will support a developmental production of THE MAD SHOW, created from the twisted minds of 'the Usual Gang of Idiots' behind MAD Magazine. Beginning September 12th, the work will culminate in two presentations at the Wheeler Opera House.

In their ongoing effort to support new works, the Bay Street Theatre kicks off their 26th main stage season with the World Premiere of Andrew Lippa's latest musical The Man In The Ceiling. Running through June 25th, this endearing production, directed by Tony winner Jeffrey Seller, boasts a stellar cast and creative team. After critically acclaimed and award winning productions in Seattle, New Jersey and Boston the new musical, Ernest Shackleton Loves me, officially opened last night, May 7, 2017 at Off-Broadway's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rdStreet). The Houston Symphony and Music Director Andres Orozco-Estrada announced today details of the 2017-18 season, which marks Orozco-Estrada's fourth year as music director. Highlights of the season include the appointment of Peruvian-born composer Jimmy Lopez as the Houston Symphony's new Composer-in-Residence and the introduction of Ars Electronica Futurelab's musical visualization of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, an immersive concert experience directed by acclaimed choreographer Klaus Obermaier

The watch must finally come to an end for "Thrones! The Musical Parody," announcing today the fourth and final extension at Apollo Theater (2540 N. Lincoln Ave). The "Game of Thrones" send-up will close March 19, 2017 after an eight-month run at the Lincoln Park theater.
