Sydney Theatre Company and Colonial First State Global Asset Management present Speed-the-Plow, by David Mamet, this 8 November - 17 December 2016. The opening night is Saturday 12 November 2016 at 7.30pm, at the Roslyn Packer Theatre, Walsh Bay.

Andrew Upton's new adaptation for Sydney Theatre Company of the 1907 French farce, A Flea in Her Ear by Georges Feydeau, is realised in all its clockwork-precision by the creative team behind STC's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead: director Simon Phillips, designer Gabriela Tylesova and lighting designer Nick Schlieper. Performances are at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House from 31 October to 17 December (opening 4 November 2016).

Joanna Murray-Smith's acclaimed two-hander, Switzerland, comes to MTC with the stunning original cast of Sarah Peirse and Eamon Farren. Under the direction of newly appointed MTC Associate Director Sarah Goodes, this Sydney Theatre Company production opens at Southbank Theatre, the Sumner on Wednesday 21 September.

Melbourne Theatre Company's 2016 opening show Ladies in Black has won the coveted Best New Australian Work at the 16th Annual Helpmann Awards. The production, created by Queensland Theatre Company, written by Carolyn Burns and Tim Finn, and directed by Simon Phillips, launched MTC's 2016 Subscription Season and was a sell-out success. In receiving the Award the creative team stressed the need for, and clear benefits of, thorough development of Australian works.

BWW Sydney attended the announcement of the 2016 HELPMANN AWARDS NOMINATIONS at Sydney Theatre Company's Wharf 2 Theatre.

Cate Blanchett and Richard Roxburgh will be joined by the entire original cast of THE PRESENT when Sydney Theatre Company's production of Andrew Upton's adaptation of Anton Chekhov's first play opens on Broadway. Full casting was announced overnight in the US as tickets go on sale for the limited season, commencing previews at the Barrymore Theatre on 17 December 2016, opening on 8 January and closing on 19 March 2017.

John Howard, Robyn Nevin, Chris Ryan, Eryn Jean Norvill and Josh McConville are amongst the cast for Sydney Theatre Company's All My Sons by Arthur Miller. STC Resident Director Kip Williams is at the helm following the success of The Golden Age in January and Miss Julie, currently at Melbourne Theatre Company.
