A magical tradition for the whole family and a great way to celebrate the season, 'A Christmas Carol,' Dickens' timeless classic, runs tonight, November 26 through December 21 on the mainstage with 7:30 pm and 2:00 pm performances.

Due to popular demand, the Clarence Brown Theatre has added a Tuesday, April 29 at 7:30 pm performance to the run of "Monty Python's Spamalot". Several of the shows in the April 24-May 11, 2014 production run have limited availability. The production is sponsored by Schaad Companies, Pilot Flying J, the Mildred Haines and William Elijah Morris Lecture Endowment Fund and the Arts & Heritage Fund. The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC), the world's first child protection agency, held its annual fall benefit on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at The Metropolitan Club in Manhattan. This year, The NYSPCC's benefit was their Inaugural Wine Dinner. The 215 guests, dressed in festive attire, enjoyed an extraordinary menu designed by renowned chef, Jonathan Waxman, of Barbuto, and featured excellent wines from the Napa Valley winery, Tournesol. The cocktail hour kicked off the evening with wine tasting tables sponsored by Bespoke, Far Niente, Millbrook Vineyards and Winery, OneHope and Premier Cru Wine Merchants. Beautifully staged, with lighting by Kristen Geisler, and scenic design by Josafeth Israel Reynoso Calvillo, the audience is transported back in time to become a part of something that has both good and bad, dark and light, conviction and redemption. To imagine that you can experience all of that in the span of about three hours is a feat in itself, but the Clarence Brown Theatre manages to pull it off with little trouble.

Peninsula Players Theatre will present readings of three short plays by Door County students in the theater tonight, July 29 at 7 p.m. The free public readings, directed by Players company member Neil Friedman, will showcase the work of three young writers who participated in the High School Playwrighting Contest in conjunction with the Players' initiative, The Play's the Thing, last winter and spring. Friedman played Vince Lombardi in the Players' production of 'Lombardi' last fall and is in the Players' musical 'Sunday in the Park with George.'

Golub and Emmy-award winning journalist and Dateline NBC correspondent, Chris Hansen with the Strength of Our Society Award at its 2010 Gala on November 18 at The Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. Mr. Golub also serves as a Managing Director in the Banking Group of Lazard and serves on the New York Management Committee. Mr. Hansen is being honored for his groundbreaking investigative reporting into on-line child predators.
