The 3rd ANNUAL ASIAN WORLD FILM FESTIVAL (AWFF) closes on November 2 with a screening of George Takei's ALLEGIANCE, The Broadway Musical. Based upon Takei's childhood experience, Allegiance tells the story of the Japanese American internment camps during the Second World War. I

Playwrights' Arena, the only theater created and dedicated to discovering, nurturing, and producing original works written exclusively by Los Angeles playwrights, is presenting the World Premiere of BILLY BOY by Nick Salamone as part of its 25th Anniversary Season.

Reefer Madness, being staged by Conejo Players Theatre now through July 31, is inspired by the original 1936 film of the same name. This raucous musical comedy takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the hysteria caused when clean-cut kids fall prey to marijuana, leading them on a hysterical downward spiral filled with evil jazz music, sex, and violence.

On June 30, it was announced that Tim Dang would be stepping down as Artistic Director of EWP in June 2016 and Marilyn Tokuda would be retiring at the same time. Proceeds of One Night Only benefit the artistic and educational programs of East West Players.
