BroadwayWorld brings you a brand new official trailer of Berkeley Repertory Theatre's AMELIE, A NEW MUSICAL, starring award-winning British actress Samantha Barks, directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?). Barks, who is best known for her stand-out performance as Eponine in the film adaptation of LES MISERABLES, will portray the inquisitive and charmingly shy Amelie. Her most recent theatre credits include City of Angels, Cabaret, and Oliver! in London's West End, and Chicago at The Hollywood Bowl. Tuck Everlasting, the new musical based on Natalie Babbitt's beloved best-selling novel of the same name, has confirmed principal casting for the Broadway production, BroadwayWorld has confirmed.

Is the new stage musical AMELIE, based on the 2001 French movie starring Audrey Tautou, heading to Broadway?

Due to an exuberant reception from critics and audiences alike, Berkeley Repertory Theatre has announced that Amelie, A New Musical, will extend for an additional week. Originally scheduled to close on October 4, the world premiere will now play through Sunday, October 11. Starting at noon today, tickets for the added eight performances can be purchased by phone at (510) 647-2949 or online at berkeleyrep.org.

After six long years, the wait is finally over! BroadwayWorld has just learned that the musical web series The Battery's Down, which wrapped up its final season in late 2009, will return for a reunion special later this fall.
