Invisible Wall Productions has announced that The View UpStairs - the provocative new musical written by Max Vernon and directed by Scott Ebersold - will launch an Off-Broadway run at Culture Project - The Lynn Redgrave (45 Bleecker Street).

Sitting in my seat watching Lance Horne and his many friends perform at NEW WORK NEW WORK I: EXTRAORDINARY DAYS at Joe's Pub, I couldn't help but feel like I was at a really great dinner party (if I were invited to dinner parties with some of the most talented artists in the city). The seats---and, in this case, the songs---were assigned, but the host didn't try and force conversation, and the whole affair was better for it. The purpose of the November 21 show, the first in a year-long residency, was for the successful composer and musical director to showcase his recent work, and, for new material, Horne's songs were quite polished.

The October 2016 edition will both celebrate 'The Gay Agenda' - the debut comedy album from Justin Sayre - and pay homage to Bette Midler. It was here, in September 1991, that a work-in-progress version of 'Beauty and the Beast' was first screened at the New York Film Festival -- and received a standing ovation. Rhonda LaChanze Sapp, better known by her stage name LaChanze (Creole: the charmed one), taken from her grandmother, was born in St Augustine, Florida. Grew up in Connecticut, her parents nurtured her love for performing by enrolling her in high schools for the performing arts. After high school, LaChanze studied Drama at Morgan State University, before transferring to the University of the Arts, she studied Theatre and Dance. Her first Summer job was as a tap dancer in the ensemble of out of town tryout of 'Uptown...It's Hot!.' She made her Broadway debut in the same show in 1986.
