On March 3rd Broadway for Self Help Africa will bring together some of Broadway's biggest stars for a night of song and celebration benefiting Self Help Africa at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City.

Broadway Gives Back and Seaview Productions will present the Second Annual 'Broadway Charity Songs!' 'Broadway Charity Songs' has paired a group of award-winning musical theatre composers with a group outstanding charities and tasked them with composing an original song that the prospective charity could use for fundraising purposes. The result is a group of songs gifted to the charities - with the hope that the songs 'go viral' -- increasing awareness for these outstanding organizations.

Broadway Producer Ken Davenport and Davenport Theatrical just presented the first annual Davenport Songwriting Contest. 10 songs competed for the title of 'Best Song' and a $500 Grand Prize. The contest was held at the Davenport Theatre (354 West 45th Street New York, NY 10036) on January 30th, 2014. Click below and continue through the playlist to watch all the performances!

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents David Alan Thornton in 'David Alan Thornton Vs. the Bunny Suicides' on February 17, 11:30pm. David Alan Thornton has escaped and he's at it again! He returns to 54 Below for David Alan Thornton Vs. the Bunny Suicides- an evening of fun, feelings, fruity love stories, robots with identity crises, determined hippopotamuses (yes, it's the correct plural), and BUNNY SUICIDES! With the cooperation of internationally-renowned comic-book artist Andy Riley and featuring an all-star cast, the night and the music are sure to make you laugh, sigh, snort, cry, and feel darn good.

Singers include Hannah Elless (Somewhere In Time, Godspell, The Other Josh Cohen), Ben Fankhauser (Newsies), Craig Waletzko (Guys & Dolls, Young Frankenstein), and Mary Kate Morrissey (Hair).

Award-winning composer Jeff Thomson made his debut at 54 Below with 'Go Where The Love Is' last week, January 20. The evening will highlight material from the upcoming musicals Pump Up the Volume, Trails, and Jawbreaker, as well as several yet-to-be-revealed projects. The concert will feature "love songs" written by new musical theater composers Will Buck, Lauren Marcus, Ryan Scott Oliver, Drew Overcash, Alexander Sage Oyen, Georgia Stitt, and Zoe Sarnak. A portion of the proceeds will go directly to the VDAY Foundation, a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls.

'Go Where the Love Is,' a star studded musical show with the music of Jeff Thomson will be performed at 54 Below on Monday, January 13th at 9:30 pm. The show is produced by Ashley Kate Addams, directed by Jen Bender with musical direction by Joshua Stephen Kartes.
