Sundance Institute today announced the acting company for its 2008 Sundance Institute Theatre Lab, to be held July 7 to July 27 at the Sundance Resort in Utah. New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Acting Managing Director Fred Walker have announced that the next event in NYTW's special series of twenty-fifth anniversary public programs will be 'Two-and-a-Half Decades of Serving the Artist,' a discussion exploring the 'workshop' component of the theatre's activities on Monday, March 24 at 7:30pm, at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Second Avenue and Bowery.

Ripe Time and New Dramatists have announced that they will present Shape Shifting: Contemporary Women Playwrights Re-imagine Homer, Shakespeare, and Chekhov, a series of readings and conversations with award-winning women playwrights whose work jumps off from classic texts, for three consecutive Tuesdays beginning October 30. Free admission.

Academy Award-winner Meryl Streep will join previously announced Matt Dillon, Lili Taylor, Joe Pantoliano, and Lois Smith in performances of excerpts from new plays by a host of artists at Soho Rep's Spring Gala '07

Casting has been announced for the first week of Summer Play Festival shows

On July 10th and July 24th, the Summer Play Festival will present a series of free panels addressing both practical and philosophical issues surrounding the theatre and will include an impressive line up of industry professionals

The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director; Mara Manus, Executive Director) and New Dramatists (Todd London, Artistic Director; Joel Ruark, Executive Director) will hold a memorial service for the Playwright John Belluso, who died on Friday, February 10, 2006. The service will be held at The Public Theater on Monday, February 27th at 7:00 PM. It will be open to the general public.
