The award-winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) commences performances Sunday, June 19, for the first two titles in its upcoming Musicals in Mufti Series-the York's acclaimed series of musical theatre gems in staged concert performances.

The award-winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) will honor Tony and Grammy Award winner Barbara Cook with the 20th Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre on Monday, November 21st, 2011.

Broadway's WONDERLAND played its final performance this Sunday, May 15 at 3pm at the Marquis Theatre in front of a packed house including many Broadway notables. The show played 31 previews and 33 regular performances. WONDERLAND began previews Monday, March 21 and opened Sunday, April 17. The production will play a National tour. The York Theatre Company present NEO7, a benefit concert celebrating New, Emerging, Outstanding musical theatre writers, last night Monday, May 16 at its home at the Theatre at Saint Peter's. 'NEO' (an acronym for 'New, Emerging, Outstanding') celebrates songwriters primed to pen the next generation of musicals. Since the first NEO concert 6 years ago -- recorded by England's JAY Records-- musical theatre fans and York supporters eagerly anticipate each incarnation. NEO7 included songs by the following new musical theatre writers: Will Aronson & Bill Nelson; Andre Catrini; Adam David Cohen & Patrick Gallagher; Jonathan Matthew Gilbert & John Andrew Tarbet; Tom Gualtieri & David Sisco; Richard Isen; Steven Jamail; Mark McDaniels & Donald Garverick; Mary Liz McNamara; Michael Mitnick; Jonathan Monro; Benjamin Velez; and Derrick Wang. As we first reported earlier, at the curtain call the show's love story mixed with real life, as Darren Ritchie, who played Jack the White Knight proposed to his co-star, Janet Dacal, who played Alice. Darren proposed to Janet on stage right after the curtain call with the entire audience in the house. Janet screamed 'I said yes!' In the audience, there were tears of joy mixed with the sadness for the show closing. Now, the first videos are making their way onto YouTube!

Broadway's WONDERLAND is the new musical inspired by the classic fairy tale 'Alice in Wonderland.' Karen Mason, who plays the Queen of Hearts, and three of her ladies in waiting -- Natalie Hill, Morgan James, and Kate Loprest -- perform on the Good Day stage.

On Monday, May 9, the Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present singer Morgan James, along with her seven-piece band, which included Chris Fenwick on piano, Mat Fieldes on bass, Damien Bassman on drums, Eric Davis on guitar, Dan Levine on trombone and CJ Camerieri on trumpet. The concert featured fresh arrangements of soul and blues classics, including Aretha Franklin's 'Ain't No Way,' and the jazz standard 'Ill Wind.' Songwriter Katie Thompson also joined James at the piano for a duet of Thompson's 'Make Me Hate You.'
