MEMPHIS, Broadway's current Tony Award® winning Best Musical, is hitting big screens nationwide for an exclusive four-night run on Thursday, April 28; Saturday, April 30; and Tuesday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m., with a special matinee on Sunday, May 1 at 12:30 p.m. (all times are local). This is the first time the current Tony Award®-winning Best Musical will be presented in movie theaters while concurrently running on Broadway. In addition to the electrifying musical, audiences will be treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the musical that won four 2010 Tony Awards® and continues to play to sold out houses on Broadway. MEMPHIS was captured live in performance with the original Broadway cast for this special Fathom event presentation.

Presented by NCM Fathom and Broadway Worldwide, MEMPHIS was captured live in performance at Broadway's renowned Shubert Theatre in New York City, and will be broadcast to more than 530 movie theaters nationwide through NCM's exclusive Digital Broadcast Network. Broadway Worldwide's production team is led by founder and executive producer Bruce Brandwen, Emmy Award®-winning director Don Roy King (Saturday Night Live, CBS' The Early Show, Survivor) and Grammy® and Emmy Award®-winning sound producer Matt Kaplowitz (Ghandi, PBS' To Bear Witness). Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will present the 25TH ANNUAL EASTER BONNET COMPETITION on Monday, April 25 (4:30 PM) and Tuesday, April 26 (2 PM) at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre (200 West 45th Street). The event celebrates and concludes six intensive weeks of fundraising by the theatre community benefiting BC/EFA.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center announced today four musicals to be developed at its 2011 National Music Theater Conference under the leadership of Artistic Director Paulette Haupt.

The 2010 Tony winning Best Musical MEMPHIS welcomes legendary radio personality and author, 'Cousin Brucie' Morrow to the Shubert theatre for a special one week only cameo appearance starting Tuesday, May 3 - Sunday May 8, 2011. This event coincides with the release of Cousin Brucie's paperback edition, Rock & Roll...And the Beat Goes On; which is a tribute to the great musicians of the 50s, 60s and 70s. Autographed copies of the book will be available at the theatre during his show appearances.

Last night, April 4, The Point Foundation, celebrating LGBT leaders, hosted a benefit last night in New York City, co-hosted by Kelly Ripa and Sam Champion. Participants in the event included performers Montego Glover (Memphis), Kerry Butler (Catch Me If You Can) and Rob Thomas (Matchbox Twenty), Ellen Barkin, Iman, Isaac Mizrahi, John Benjamin Hickey (The C Word), Thomas Roberts (MSNBC) and Marsha Thomason (White Collar). The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the Canadian distributor Fremantle has acquired the international rights to Broadway's MEMPHIS. They write: 'Toronto-based Fremantle will start shopping the two-hour, HD musical special event from Broadway Worldwide at MIP-TV 2011.'

Friends and colleagues of Associated Press theater critic Michael Kuchwara honored his memory with a musical tribute of his favorite Broadway songs Monday (2/28) night at Birdland in New York City.

As part of the Broadway at Birdland series on Monday, February 28, Broadway stars took time to salute the late theater critic Michael Kuchwara in 'Songs For Mike,' for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, raising over $40,000.

The 2010 Tony winning Best Musical MEMPHIS announced today that Nancy Opel has joined the cast of MEMPHIS as 'Mama.' Opel will begin performances on Tuesday, March 15th. Along with Opel, current cast member John Jellison will take over the role of 'Mr. Simmons,' also beginning performances on Tuesday, March 15th. Cass Morgan and Michael McGrath will play their final performances on Sunday, March 13th.
