Broadway's Memphis, winner of four Tony Awards® including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book and Best Orchestrations, comes to THIRTEEN's Great Performances Friday, February 24 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). Featuring the original Broadway cast, including Tony nominees Chad Kimball and Montego Glover, as well as Derrick Baskin, J. Bernard Calloway, James Monroe Iglehart, Michael McGrath and Cass Morgan. Memphis is the historic first Best Musical Tony Award winner to air on U.S. national television with its original principals while simultaneously continuing a successful Broadway run and national tour.

PBS's 'Great Performances' series has just announced the schedule for their previously announced 2012 line-up, which is set to feature a slew of theatre productions. Included in the season is LET ME DOWN EASY- a one-woman show featuring Anna Deavere Smith airing January 13; MEMPHIS- featuring original stars Montego Glover and Chad Kimball airing February 24; and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA- featuring Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess airing in March.

Christopher Jackson to Join MEMPHIS as 'Delray'

Hockadoo! The 2010 Tony winning Best Musical MEMPHIS announced today that Broadway veteran Christopher Jackson (In the Heights, The Lion King) will join the cast of MEMPHIS as "Delray." Jackson is scheduled to begin performances on Tuesday, January 24th. Current "Delray" J. Bernard Calloway will play his final performance on Sunday, January 22nd, before taking a leave of absence to appear in Two River Theater Company's production of August Wilson's Jitney. Calloway is expected to return to MEMPHIS February 28th.
Cass Morgan Returns to MEMPHIS Tonight

The 2010 Tony Award winning Best Musical MEMPHIS previously announced that original Broadway cast member, and Outer Critics Circle Nominee, Cass Morgan will return to the company as "Mama." Morgan will begin performances tonight, December 15th. Nancy Opel played her final performance on Sunday, December 11th, before taking a leave of absence to appear in David Bryan and Joe DiPietro's The Toxic Avenger at The Alley Theater in Houston, TX. Opel is expected to return to her role in MEMPHIS in February, 2012.
MEMPHIS Begins New Performance Schedule in January

Broadway's Memphis will begin a new performance schedule starting January 3, 2012, which will include 7pm performances Tuesday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday evening performances will take place at 8pm, with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2pm, and Sunday at 3pm.
