On May 20 some of the brightest stars on the musical theater and cabaret scene will converge at Greenwich Village nightclub Le Poisson Rouge to benefit Swish, an organization of straight allies for the LGBT movement.

Producers Barry & Fran Weissler and Howard & Janet Kagan have just announced that the critically acclaimed and Tony-nominated Broadway musical PIPPIN will launch a US national tour in September 2014, at the Buell Theatre in Denver, CO. Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's beloved coming-of-age musical comedy PIPPIN is directed by Diane Paulus featuring choreography by Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (also known as 7 Fingers). The production is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's beloved coming-of-age musical comedy Pippin, which is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street), on June 4 (digitally) and July 9 (in stores). The album will be co-produced by composer Stephen Schwartz and Kurt Deutsch, and executive produced by Howard & Janet Kagan.

The acclaimed Broadway production of PIPPIN and Ghostlight Records invites fans to sing on the brand new Broadway cast recording. On Tuesday, May 7 at 12:30 PM, PIPPIN fans will gather to sing along with Andrea Martin for one of the show's highlights, 'No Time At All.' Ghostlight Records will release the New Broadway Cast Recording for Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's beloved coming-of-age musical comedy PIPPIN, which is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) and opens on Thursday, April 25. The cast will record the album on April 29. The album will be release in June 2013 (date to be announced) and will feature material from the show never previously recorded. The album will be co-produced by composer Stephen Schwartz and Kurt Deutsch, and executive produced by Howard & Janet Kagan.

Since my last post we have gotten about a week's worth of previews under our belt. I figured the crowds would settle a bit after those first couple of absolutely wild preview audiences, but it appears the audiences are only getting more enthusiastic as we go! Each crowd is a little different and has its own personality, but they are all incredibly encouraging and vocal which we absolutely love! We are greeted daily at the stage door by smiling fans with posters, playbills, and sharpies in hand waiting for autographs. The support has really been overwhelming, and we could not be more grateful for the love our audiences and fans have already shown us. After all, what is live theater without an audience? Thank you all for spreading the word, for tweeting and posting about us, and most importantly for coming to see the show!
