Verb Ballets begins its 30th Anniversary Celebration in 2017. 'Marx Bros. & The Golden Age of Vaudeville,' a one-week festival including brand new restorations of the team's first five feature comedies, along with special programs devoted to the halcyon days of vaudeville, will run at Film Forum from Friday, September 23 through Thursday, September 29.

Casting for American Ballet Theatre's The Nutcracker, co-presented by Segerstrom Center for the Arts and ABT, was announced today by Kevin McKenzie, ABT Artistic Director and Terry Dwyer, Segerstrom Center President. Choreographed by ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, The Nutcracker will be given 12 performances at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, December 9-18, 2016. The Nutcracker, set to music by Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky, features choreography by Alexei Ratmansky, scenery and costumes by award-winning designer Richard Hudson and lighting by Jennifer Tipton. The Pacific Symphony performs the beloved holiday score. In the Los Angeles Times review from last year's inaugural Center performance, it declared, "Choreographer Alexei Ratmansky has made his own Christmas miracle: a joyful 'Nutcracker' ballet that is ravishing and clever enough to inspire multiple viewings."

Deborah Hay, a founding member of Judson Dance Theater, is one of the most radical and influential  choreographers of our time. Where else but Peak Performances to present the US Premiere of her new work, Figure a Sea Set to a score by legendary electronic music pioneer Laurie Anderson and performed by 20 dancers of Sweden's adventurous Cullberg Ballet, Figure a Sea makes its US Premiere October 6th through October 9th at Peak Performances, which has become the new home for the best in modern dance.

The sound of music will be heard all across Boston from September 23-October 10, 2016 as Celebrity Series of Boston brings back Street Pianos Boston. 

Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the appointment of six new members, Kelsey Hellebuyck, Emily Mistretta, Gustavo Ribeiro, Amaya Rodriguez, James Rogers, Kevin Wilson, and three new apprentices, Ivan Braatz, Sarah Joan Smith, and Katherine Sawicki to the Kansas City Ballet Company.

Stefanie Batten Bland, a choreographic artist and 2016 Bessie Schonberg Fellow is the Artistic Director of Company SBB. Alex Timbers is a two-time Tony nominated playwright and theater director, recipient of the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards, and two-time OBIE and Lortel Award winner, and co-creator and co-executive producer of the television show, Mozart in the Jungle. Both will be presented with the 2016 Jerome Robbins Award at Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) on November 7, 2016 at an invitation-only performance beginning at 6.30.

On Saturday, August 27, Jacob's Pillow Dance announced plans to build a new dance studio on the historic Jacob's Pillow campus. The announcement was made by Director Pamela Tatge at the Pillow's 2016 Festival Finale, with the official ground-breaking ceremony to take place at the Pillow on Friday, October 14 at 5pm.

Today, Humanity for Hillary released a new video called '#ITrustHer' starring legendary Russian-American dancer, choreographer, and actor, Mikhail Baryshnikov. In a direct attack on Trump, Baryshnikov warns voters about 'dangerous totalitarian opportunists like Donald Trump' and likens the GOP nominee's rhetoric to that of a Soviet dictator. Hubbard Street 2, the young second company of the world-renowned Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, will present Mariko's Magical Mix: A Dance Adventure for their Jacob's Pillow debut, in the Doris Duke Theatre, July 13-17.

This summer New York City Ballet will return to Paris, France for the first time since 2008, for three weeks of performances at the Theatre du Chatelet -- today, June 28, through July 16, 2016.

New York Theatre Ballet will perform two works at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in the Doris Duke Theatre from August 3- 7, 2016. Jacob's Pillow, a National Historic Landmark, National Medal of Arts recipient, and home to America's longest-running dance festival, is located in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts at 358 George Carter Road in Becket.

Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak and Managing Director Michael Stotts announced today that Hartford Stage's 2016-17 season will include Caryl Churchill's landmark play Cloud 9, a provocative and vital comedy that looks at the ever-changing world of sexual identity, directed by Elizabeth Williamson.
