New Winston-Salem Professional Equity Theatre Holds Auditions for Premiere Season

Festival Stage of Winston-Salem (FSWS), the city's new professional Equity theatre company, will hold general auditions for its upcoming 2010-2011 season on Monday, June 28, from 10:00am - 4:00pm at 521 N. Liberty Street (Artists on Liberty Building), Winston-Salem, NC 27101.

The regional premiere of this musical has been delighting audiences since it opened on July 10.

Late-Night Improv Returns to Taproot Theatre's Mainstage 7/24, 7/31, 8/7

Taproot Theatre is bringing Late-Night Improv back to the Mainstage this summer for three hilarious evenings of fun. Following the performances of Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming on July 24 and 31 and August 7, Taproot's improvisers will take the stage to entertain audiences with their imaginative sketches based on audience suggestions. Performances start at 10:15 p.m., or shortly after the Mainstage performance ends.

The 2004 recipient of the Joyce Award, Ghostwritten runs April 4 thru May 3, 2009 in the Owen Bruner Theatre. Tickets are $10 $39. Joyce Award-recipient Naomi Iizuka brings her tale of family ties, a lingering debt, mystical stories-and magical food-to the Goodman stage in her newest work, Ghostwritten, April 4 - May 3, 2009. Lisa Portes, who has shepherded this play from its first appearance at the 2007 New Stages Series, directs its world-premiere production with a cast of Chicago favorites led by Lisa Tejero (Mirror of the Invisible World and Metamorphoses) and Kim Martin-Cotten (King Lear).
