Stage and screen star Obba Babatunde will return to the CHICAGO stage next week as Billy Flynn while Brent Barrett (who re-assumed the role last fall) is on vacation. His run will last from January 10 - January 17. Brent Barrett will return on January 18.

It has been confirmed that former Destiny's Child songbird Michelle Williams is Chicago-bound. Williams will portray the wannabe star-turned-murderess Roxie Hart for a limited run from February 8 to March 28. Williams will be taking over the role from Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, who debuted in the revival on December 1.

LONG BEACH, CA-Musical Theatre West is proud to announce that Jai Rodriguez, star of Bravo TV's 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy' joins the cast line up for their production of the Jonathan Larson Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-Winning smash RENT. RENT will run December 11-20, 2009 at the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center. MTW is the first professional regional theatre company to produce their own production of this groundbreaking musical.

Directed by John Crowley, A BEHANDING IN SPOKANE will play the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Sundance Institute announced today the lineup of films selected to screen in the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions for the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Matt Weaver & Scott Prisand, two of ROCK OF AGES' lead producers and co-owners of the LA-based Corner Store Entertainment, have two films in the top dramatic category at Sundance Film Festival. The films, which star a host of stage stars, are SYMPATHY FOR DELICIOUS (Mark Ruffalo, Laura Linney, Orlando Bloom and Juliette Lewis) and HESHER (Natalie Portman and Joseph Gordon Levitt).
