Gore Vidal's THE BEST MAN, the critically-acclaimed revival about dirty tricks and double-dealing at a political convention, recoups its investment just as the 2012 Republican National Convention begins. The play will conclude its limited engagement at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) right after the 2012 Democratic National Convention on Sunday, September 9, 2012.

Two days after the death of its author, I had the pleasure of taking in director Michael Wilson's outstanding revival of The Best Man – one of the best evenings Broadway had to offer last season – for the third time. Gore Vidal most certainly went out with a landslide victory.

The Bridge on the River Kwai will be shown at Hershey Theatre on Saturday, September 8 at 7:30 p.m. The 1957 classic stars William Holden, Alec Guinness and Sessue Hayakawa. The film won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for the legendary British filmmaker David Lean and Best Actor for Guinness. It also won Best Screenplay for Pierre Boulle, Michael Wilson and Carl Foreman.

HERO Theatre previously announced that Joe Manganiello of HBO's True Blood and feature film Magic Mike would join Emmy Award winner William H. Macy, star of Showtime's Shameless and Academy Award nominee for Fargo, in a benefit reading of Tennessee Williams' "Small Craft Warnings", directed by John Frank Levey. The benefit will be held today, July 29 at 6pm at the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica, Calif. The event will include a silent auction.
