​​​​​​​RIOULT Dance NY's 2019 Spring Season will present two evenings of modern dance inspired by the poetry of T.S. Eliot, the “living master of short stories” Joyce Carol Oates, and the film work of Andrei Tarkovsky.

Award-winning contemporary choreographer Ariel Grossman and her company of seven female dancers will celebrate the 12th Anniversary of ARIEL RIVKA DANCE (ARD) with two premieres, repertory and guest artists at Baruch Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Avenue (25th Street) in New York City. The program will take place in four performances, Thursday, March 28 through Saturday, March 30 at 7:30pm, with a family matinee on March 30 at 11:30am. The two ARD works in premiere, Mossy and Rhapsody in K, will feature newly commissioned scores by composers David Homan and Stefania de Kenessey. American Repertory Theater (A.R.T) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Terrie and Bradley Bloom Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Producer Diane Borger, has released additional production photos of the acclaimed Oregon Shakespeare Festival production of Othello directed by Bill Rauch, playing now through February 9 at the Loeb Drama Center in Cambridge, MA.

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Terrie and Bradley Bloom Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Producer Diane Borger, announces the cast and creative team for Othello by William Shakespeare. The first Shakespeare production from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) to play the east coast, the acclaimed staging by award-winning director Bill Rauch begins previews Sunday, January 13; opens Friday, January 18; and closes Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Loeb Drama Center in Cambridge, MA.

Ensemble Theatre Company's production of The Legend of Georgia McBride, directed by Jenny Sullivan, avoids the landmines. It's neither preachy nor offensive, and it tells a story of redemption that's timely, socially relevant, and charming. The show takes place over the period of a year, starting and ending around Christmas, an appropriate staging choice for a piece with such a clear connection to the general themes of the yuletide season. Georgia McBride is about family, forgiveness, celebration, and general joy to the world.

For Ensemble's upcoming extravaganza, 'The Legend of Georgia McBride' (by Matthew Lopez, directed by Jenny Sullivan), actors Stephen Spencer and Bill Brochtrup have stepped up to the challenge of transforming into drag queens. The play follows Elvis impersonator Casey (Spencer), who gets fired from his gig at a Florida bar to make room for the newest entertainment sensation, a drag show starring Miss Tracey Mills (Brochtrup). With a pregnant wife at home, Casey has to adapt or find another job, so he tries his hand at female impersonation.

The three couples get to chatting and begin to marvel at just how much they have in common. WAY too much in common, in fact. So much in common that it begins to become surreal.
