TINA FEY, a Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner for her work on television's 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live, and LESLIE KRITZER, star of Broadway'sSondheim on Sondheim and Legally Blonde, have joined the cast of the forthcoming benefit reading of Craig Lucas's play RECKLESS on October 28th, directed byKate Whoriskey (Ruined).

A Red Orchid Theatre (AROT) welcomes award-winning actor Kamal Angelo Bolden, director and long-time AROT artistic associate Shade Murray, and lighting designer Mike Durst into its storied Ensemble. Bolden, Murray and Durst are the most recent additions to the A Red Orchid Theatre Ensemble, which includes Lance Baker, Dado, Jennifer Engstrom, Kirsten Fitzgerald, Joseph Fosco, Steve Haggard, Mierka Girten, Larry Grimm, Karen Kawa, Karen Kessler, Danny McCarthy, Brett Neveu, Michael Shannon, Guy Van Swearingen, Doug Vickers, Natalie West and Craig Wright.

Sources have confirmed that the duo will be meeting with Marvel execs and Wright an additional time before any deal is offered. The publication also reports that an additional actor may also be approached, though a name was not given.

A Red Orchid Theatre announces its 2013-2014 season, featuring the Midwest Premiere of Trevor by Nick Jones, directed by Artistic Associate Shade Murray; the U.S. Premiere of Zinnie Harris' Solstice directed by Ensemble Member Karen Kessler, and the Chicago Premiere of Mud Blue Sky by Marisa Wegrzyn, also directed by Artistic Associate Shade Murray.

AMY HERZOG, a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for her acclaimed play 4000 Miles, has joined the cast of the forthcoming benefit reading of Craig Lucas's play RECKLESS on October 28th, directed by Kate Whoriskey (Ruined).

Following the success of the inaugural Chicago Music Summit this fall, Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events are proud to announce the first Chicago Film and Media Summit on Sunday, October 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington. The Summit will focus on Chicago's film making community in efforts to nurture the ever-growing local culture. Chicago filmmakers expected to participate include actor Michael Shannon, producer Bob Teitel and director John McNaughton.

The Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) announced casting today for two theatrical productions in November: White Rabbit, Red Rabbit, the Iranian absurdist play about isolation co-presented with the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), running Nov. 3-9, 2013, and Birds Do It, Bees Do It..., the annual cabaret performance Nov. 5, 2013, created by Rob Lindley and Doug Peck.

The 2013 Gala will celebrate 21 years of creating exceptional, ensemble-based theater in Chicago. The event will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Sunda New Asian restaurant, 110 W. Illinois, with a cocktail party and auction to follow at The Underground, 56 W Illinois. The evening will be co-hosted by A Red Orchid Co-founder and Academy Award Nominee, Michael Shannon and Emmy Award winning television contributor and Rockit Ranch Productions CEO, Billy Dec.

Michael Mendelson plays the lead role of Felix Artifex in Artists Rep's production of MISTAKES WERE MADE. Artistic Director Damaso Rodriguez directs Mendelson and guides the show to opening as the production's Associate Director. Preview performances begin tonight, September 24 and the play will open on September 28.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Shannon has signed on to the cast of Ramin Bahrani's 99 HOMES. The actor joins previously announced cast member Andrew Garfield in the drama.

Single tickets go on sale today, September 13, for Theatre for a New Audience's inaugural production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by multiple Tony Award-winner Julie Taymor with original music composed by Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning Elliot Goldenthal, at the Theatre's newly-named building, Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place between Lafayette Avenue and Fulton Street, Brooklyn.

Tony Award nominee Craig Lucas' acclaimed play RECKLESS returns to New York on October 28h, 2013 at 8pm for a one-night only benefit reading in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street), directed by Kate Whoriskey (Ruined) and featuring an all-star cast. All proceeds will benefit Safe Horizon(www.safehorizon.org), "the largest organization of its kind in the United States that helps victims overcome crisis and become survives as they restore their lives". The evening is produced by The Indigo Theatre Project (Nick Gereffi and Rachel Sussman, Co-Founding Artistic Directors), a theater company that strives to unite passion with purpose by producing high-profile readings of notable plays to benefit charities aligned with the work being read.
