Dancer, Broadway and Film Star Marc Platt Passes Away at 100

The San Francisco Gate writes that Marc Platt, a dancer who appeared onstage and on-screen in OKLAHOMA! and as the fourth brother in 1954's SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS on Broadway, has passed away. He was 100.
Actors Fund Postpones THE GOODBYE GIRL Concert with Norbert Leo Butz and Kate Baldwin

Due to a late-breaking change in the availability of its headliners, the recently announced Actors Fund all-star benefit concert of the acclaimed Neil Simon / Marvin Hamlisch / David Zippel musical THE GOODBYE GIRL has been postponed. The concert, which reunites Broadway co-stars Norbert Leo Butz and Kate Baldwin and was announced for Monday, April 7 at The Gerald R. Lynch Theatre at John Jay College, will now be rescheduled for Fall 2014.

Emily Keeler, San Francisco Arts Education's Artistic Director, announced today that the San Francisco Arts Education Project's 2014 musical is Li'l Abner, the 1956 Broadway musical featuring music by Gen De Paul and lyrics by the great Johnny Mercer. Li'l Abner runs for eight performances beginning tonight, February 14 through Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Eureka Theatre (215 Jackson Street, San Francisco).

Matthew Bourne's SLEEPING BEAUTY: Gothic fairy tale, is a ballet not only for the ballet aficionado, but for the person who knows nothing about the dance form, but wants to see a well told tale, marvelously performed, as one will probably never see it again. As a male acquaintance, who only went because he had subscriber's tickets said to me the day after the performance, 'I never thought that I'd go to a ballet, but would say that it was one of the best things I've ever seen on stage.' Yes, this is an absolute MUST-SEE!
