Continuing in its ongoing efforts of supporting new musical theater works, Eric Schaeffer, Artistic Director of Signature Theatre, announced today that the Tony Award®-winning theatre is commissioning two new musicals under Signature's American Musical Voices Project (AMVP): The Next Generation. Composers Joshua Rosenblum (Einstein's Dreams, Fermat's Last Tango) and Josh Schmidt (Adding Machine, A Minister's Wife) will be creating new musicals for future seasons at Signature. In December of 2011, Mr. Rosenblum and Mr. Schmidt were awarded "honoree grants" and shared selections from projects in development at a special performance held at Signature Theatre.

Concerts for City Greens, the free outdoor concert series that brings the sounds of music to the heart of Midtown, will add flashes of comedy as several quick-silvered wits join the musical mix on Wednesday June 20 at 6:30pm at Tudor City Greens.

Bit of a Stretch Theatre Co. will present NO EXIT by Jean-Paul Sartre at 14 Pews on June 21 - 26. Directed by Emma Martinsen, No Exit features Brandon Hobrastchk as Garcin, Betty Marie Muessig as Estelle, Jacob Perkel as the Valet, and Meg Wozniak as Inez. Original Music by Wiley DeWeese. Transport Group, the Drama Desk and OBIE award-winning theatre company, has announced final casting for its one-night-only, all-star concert of the acclaimed 1983 Broadway musical Baby, which will take place Monday, June 18 at 7pm at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, 121 Christopher Street.
