The Dramatists Guild of America has just announced the recipients of their annual awards, which will be presented at an awards ceremony hosted by Lisa Kron on Monday, November 5, 2012, at the Players Club in New York. Performers include Amanda Green, Mary Testa, and Kenita Miller.

The Public Theater's $40 million revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place was unveiled October 4, 2012 and continues to be celebrated through a series of events designed to engage the entire New York community and marking a rededication to its founding principles. The event featured the "throwing out of the first lines" of Shakespeare by city officials and artists with ties to The Public, followed by a special performance from the cast of Hair, which had its world premiere at The Public when it opened in 1967.

Earlier today, the Public Theater celebrated the completion of the $40 million revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place with a special rededication ceremony. The event featured the "throwing out of the first lines" of Shakespeare by city officials and artists with ties to The Public, followed by a special performance from the cast of Hair, which had its world premiere at The Public when it opened in 1967.
