Jackie Evancho will perform with the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra (RIPO) at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 7:30P.

With the show just a few days away, MTV announced new additions to the performance line-up for the '2012 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS including Rihanna kicking off the VMAs with A$AP Rocky, Nicki Minaj will perform as a surprise guest with a previously announced VMA artist, 2 Chainz taking the VMA stage for the first time ever, and Lil Wayne with the worldwide premiere performance of his brand new single.

The producers of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 smash hit movie that defined a generation, have just announced that the production will arrive on Broadway in August 2013 with a theater, dates and casting to be announced.

Shoshana Bean joins the cast of 'A Magical Night On Broadway' at The Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa in Rancho Mirage on Saturday, September 8 at 8:00 pm. 'A Magical Night On Broadway" is a fully-staged and costumed tribute to the American musical theatre starring stage, film and television personality JoAnne Worley and featuring music from some of Broadway's most celebrated musicals including "Chicago," "Wicked," "Hairspray," "A Chorus Line," "The Lion King" and more. Joining Worley are Bean and Broadway and television star Rex Smith, Tony-nominated actress Jonelle Allen, Terron Brooks and Carol Channing's American Glee Club - a young song and dance group representing America's public schools, along with a few surprise guests. The show is directed by David Green with musical direction by Stephen Smith.

Today we are focusing a super-special spotlight on one of the Fall's most intriguing musical entries trying out in New York, the York Theatre Company's lab mounting of the new Paul Jabara jukebox musical LAST DANCE, by talking to the show's lead, recognizable TV and film star Rob Morrow, and the show's lead producer, noted comedic shepherd and filmmaker Robert D. Wachs, whom filled me in on all aspects of the show in a comprehensive chat late last week just prior to this week's start of rehearsals. In this all-encompassing conversation, Morrow, Wachs and I discuss the genesis of the new disco-themed musical celebrating the life and career of Jabara, the accomplished Emmy, Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer of Broadway shows (RACHAEL LILY ROSENBLOOM… AND DON'T YOU EVER FORGET IT), movie songs ("Last Dance" from THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY; the titular "The Main Event") and numerous pop/rock/disco hits, such as "It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls, Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer's epic disco duet "Enough Is Enough (No More Tears)" and his many solo hits, as well as the finer points of the story, concept, casting and the ultimate goals of the new Philip William McKinley-directed production, which features a book by Shaun McKenna. Additionally, Morrow and Wachs each generously share showbiz tales from their storied careers involving such big names as Eddie Murphy, Michael Bennett, Jonathan Larson, Tony Scott and many more and both copiously convey their infectious enthusiasm for the forthcoming fully-produced lab presentation of the new musical that will play for five performances beginning September 20 as they prepare for its first viewing before a paying audience. ABC has acquired the television rights to 'BAD25,' a documentary film by the award-winning director Spike Lee. Airing at Thanksgiving (details to be announced at a later date), 'BAD25' shares fresh insights into the King of Pop's creative vision that resulted in his landmark 'BAD' album, this year marking its 25th anniversary.

MTV announced today that singer-songwriter superstar Demi Lovato will kick things off with a live performance of her top five hit 'Give Your Heart A Break' in front of hundreds of screaming fans at the '2012 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS PRE-SHOW, presented by State Farm(R) on Thursday, September 6 at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network presents TV GUIDE MAGAZINE'S TOP 25 BEST OPRAH SHOW MOMENTS, counting down some of the most famous and memorable moments from 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.' The six episode series premieres tonight, August 28 with two back-to-back episodes airing at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. ET/PT, before moving to its regular time slot Tuesdays at 10pm ET/PT on OWN.

MTV today announced international sensation and five-time 2012 VMA nominee, Rihanna will heat up the 'MTV Video Music Awards' stage with a performance like never before, LIVE from STAPLES Center on Thursday, September 6 at 8:00pm ET/PT.

According to the New York Times, MOTOWN The Musical, based on the life of iconic Motown founder Berry Gordy, will start previews at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater on March 11, with opening night set for April 14. The cast will be led by Brandon Victor Dixon (The Color Purple) as 'Berry Gordy Jr.' and Valisia LeKae (Ragtime, The Book of Mormon) as 'Diana Ross.' Additional casting has not yet been announced.

Put together by John Miller and Peter Brooks, it is a night of upbeat 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s tunes, linked by scenes about Tina Turner's rise to fame, from her discovery by Ike Turner to eventual relationship with him and up until her glitzy solo success.

The irrepressible Katt Williams is back. After a three-year break the ever-outrageous, outspoken comic returns to the stage with the highly anticipated KATTPACALYPSE, premiering tonight, August 25th at 10:00 pm (ET/PT) on SHOWTIME.
