Ali Stroker is the first person in a wheelchair ever to star on Broadway in the current revival of SPRING AWAKENING.  TODAY anchor Willie Geist sat down with Stroker and her father as they share her inspiring story.

On Wednesday, November 18, the cast of Deaf West Theatre's acclaimed Broadway production of Spring Awakening, along with writers Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik and director Michael Arden, will travel to Washington, D.C. to perform at the White House as part of a convening on Americans with disabilities and the arts, a celebration of diversity and inclusion.

At a recent visit, he called the popular haunt a temple for artists of the theatre.

The 2015 LA STAGE Alliance Ovation Awards, celebrating theatrical excellence and achievement during the past 12 months, were presented on Monday, November 9 at the Ahmanson Theatre at The Music Center. As an ensemble member in the original Broadway production of SPRING AWAKENING, Krysta Rodriguez understudied the role of Ilsa, and after her breakout Broadway performances in THE ADDAMS FAMILY and FIRST DATE and displaying her musical theatre chops on television's SMASH, she returns to the role, after battling breast cancer.
