Lovely and talented, with a slightly wicked streak that means she's just as much fun offstage as she is when she's onstage, actress/director/playwright Lydia Bushfield is a Nashville theater treasure, who's been part of the local scene so long that most people assume she was born and bred her. Fact is, she's not. Instead, she's one of the many talented people who've found themselves transported and transplated to Music City USA, pursuing their artistic bliss while entertaining audiences every time they set foot onstage.

Tony Award-winner Victoria Clark will host "Backstage at Encores!," a Studio 5 at City Centerevent, on Monday, February 6 at 6:30 pm at City Center. Joining Clark for an informal conversation will be Encores! Artistic Director Jack Viertel, Tony Award-winning lyricist Sheldon Harnick and composer/arranger Jeanine Tesori. Studio Five events take place in the Barbara and David Zalaznick Studio at City Center, 130 West 56th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues).

As BroadwayWorld reported back in 2010, Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep have been in talks to star in the film adaptation of Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize and Tony-winning play, August: Osage County. Producers at the Weinstein Company, which is developing the project alongside the show's producer Jean Dourmanian, had been hopeful to begin filming in the summer of 2011, however the project was sidelined for what was believed to be scheduling conflicts. Not much has been mentioned on its progress since.

The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) earlier this month launched five new award categories recognising international achievements in film as follows: Best Film, Best Direction, Best Screenplay, Best Actor and Best Actress.
