Director David Galligan Talks S.T.A.G.E. Original Cast

Prolific musical stage director David Galligan helms another S.T.A.G.E. benefit this year for one night only on Saturday, May 1 at the Luckman Theatre entitled Original Cast, featuring stars who originated their roles on Broadway or in LA. Galligan has been interviewed many times over during the past several years, so I was hard put to think of a question that has not been asked of him. Therefore, we got right to the bottom line of what makes this year's different from all the other S.T.A.G.E. shows.

Stage and screen stars Dominic Chianese and Craig Bierko have each landed recurring roles on the FX drama 'Damages.' Chianese will appear as an friend of the Tobins, the family at the heart of Patty Hewes', played by Glenn Close, latest case. Bierko will portray Terry Brooke, a man with ties to Ted Danson's Frobisher. The actors will appear in the third season of 'Damages,' beginning January 25th.

News back in April that she'd love to have Kerry Washington (currently starring in David Mamet's RACE on Broadway) play her lesbian lover in the film. During her acceptance speech at this year's Emmy Awards, Kristin Chenoweth half-jokingly said, 'I'm unemployed now and I'd like to be on Mad Men...I also like the Office and 24.' As the Star Telegram reports, during an interview with the Tony-award winner, while no concrete job offers have landed on her step, Chenoweth is doing 'just fine' with some noteworthy upcoming appearances, including a return to the TV hit 'Glee', slated for January, and an upcoming Broadway revival of 'Promises, Promises' opposite Sean Hayes.

Additional casting has been announced for the upcoming THE MUSIC MAN concert produced by the National Symphony Orchestra Pops in the NSO Pops series. Todd A. Horman will play the role of Marcellus and Joseph Serafini will play Winthrop. Horman and Serafini join Shirley Jones, the original Marian from the film version of The Music Man, as well as Rebecca Luker and Patrick Cassidy as Harold Hill.
