The Muny brings a bigness to their current production of THE MUSIC MAN that cannot be denied. And, with the beautiful unseasonable weather we've been experiencing, it's certainly a nice way to enjoy a cool summer evening under the stars.

The new developmental production of How Now, Dow Jones (www.HowNowDowJones.com) starring Cristen Paige (Spelling Bee, The Visit, Cry-Baby), Colin Hanlon (Rent, I Love You Because) and Fred Berman (The Normal Heart, Room Service) will be presented at the Minetta Lane Theatre (18 Minetta Lane) as part of the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival.

Paradise Theatre recently about their upcoming season in their newly remodeled theatre. The season is packed with a variety of well known plays and musicals for all to enjoy. Actor Harve Presnell, star of stage and screen productions of 'The Unsinkable Molly Brown' has passed away from cancer at age 75. Presnell died June 30th of pancreatic cancer at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California, according to Gregg Klein, Presnell's agent.

Tony Award winning stage and screen star Kristin Chenoweth's new book, 'A Little Bit Wicked' recently made the New York Times' Bestseller List. After its first week of sales, Chenoweth's book debuted in the 12th spot on the famed list. FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed 'Best of New York' by New York Magazine, and 'an invaluable New York institution' by The New York Post, continues its 10th Anniversary season with the return engagement of Tony Award winning Broadway legend BARBARA COOK.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will open its summer season with one of Shakespeare's rarely produced history plays, Henry VIII. Last produced at OSF in 1984, the play will be staged with all the spectacle of the Field of the Cloth of Gold. Some tickets remain available for previews and openings. Auditions for Kaufman County Civic Theatre's production of The Music Man are being held at the theatre Jun. 13-14 from 2-4 pm. The Music Man is a musical with book, music, and lyrics by Meredith Willson based on a story by Willson and Franklin Lacey.

Variety reports NBC has officially passed on David E. Kelley's drama pilot 'Legally Mad'. 'Legally Mad' would have been the first primetime series from Kelley since the tv mastermind sealed a deal with Warner Bros. TV and would have been his first show at the Peacock since 'L.A. Law.' Kenny Ortega directed the pilot, which Kelley wrote, about a father and daughter at a Chicago law practice -- and the characters that surround them.
