Celebrating its 35th anniversary, powerhouse women's vocal ensemble, Kitka, has announced dates for its annual WINTERSONGS tour. Nine concerts are scheduled between today, December 4 and 20, 2014 at venues from Troy, NY to San Francisco, CA.

Meredick Monk's On Behalf of Nature will run Dec 3 - Dec 7, 2014 at BAM's Harvey Theater in Brooklyn as part of the 2014 Next Wave Festival.

Under the leadership of Music Director George Manahan, American Composers Orchestra (ACO) returns to Carnegie Hall for the 11th season of its Orchestra Underground series, which explores the orchestra as an elastic ensemble that can respond to composers' unhindered creativity. ACO's first performance this season, titled Orchestra Underground: Monk's Sphere, tonight, November 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall is part of Meredith Monk's season-long residency as holder of Carnegie Hall's Richard and Barbara Debs Composer's Chair.

La MaMa will honor award-winning Olympia Dukakis for her creative achievement in the arts and her work as an activist for social change; and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom partner Dan Kurtz for his steadfast advocacy on behalf of nonprofit organizations at the La MaMa Earth Gala tonight, November 13th. Guests Include Austin Pendleton (who will toast Olympia), John Patrick Shanley, Matt Dillon, among others.

Inspired by the Buddhist conception of oneness and poet Gary Snyder's idea of the artist as 'spokesperson for non-human entities,' On Behalf of Nature reaffirms our indissoluble connection to the natural realm.

The tour concludes in Oakland on December 21 with Kitka's wildly popular Wintersongs Community Sing, a free sing-along event organized around favorite selections from Kitka's Wintersongs songbook.

The classic album will now be made available for the first time in the U.S. on vinyl through Universal Music Enterprises, to be released November 24, 2014.

McCaffrey, and My Brightest Garment by Theo Bleckmann (commissioned by Carnegie Hall). The concert will also include the New York premiere of Stalks, Hounds by Loren Loiacono. Theo Bleckmann and Ian Williams will join members of Meredith Monk and Vocal Ensemble as special guests for this exhilarating concert.

?Joe's Pub at The Public joins Creative Capital's15th anniversary celebration with a slate of performances by some of New York's most adventurous and exciting artists – Lisa Kron, Danny Hoch, Kalup Linzy, Jomama Jones & Samora Pinderhughes, and Champagne Jerry. The five-time Grammy Award winning San Francisco Girls Chorus will open its first season of concerts curated under the artistic directorship of Lisa Bielawa with guest pianist Jon Nakamatsu in a program of Romantic Lieder arranged for treble voices and other works October 4 and 5 in San Francisco and Berkeley. This season, a new group of eighteen musicians -- some of the finest professional players in the world -- will join Ensemble ACJW, a two-year fellowship program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and the Weill Music Institute in partnership with the New York City Department of Education. Ensemble ACJW is designed to prepare young professional musicians for careers that combine musical excellence with teaching, community engagement, advocacy, and leadership.
