Joseph V. Melillo, executive producer of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, today announced programming for the 2014 Next Wave Festival. The festival runs from today, September 9, through December 20 and comprises theater, music, dance, film, humanities, and visual art events in the institution's three venues: the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House, the BAM Harvey Theater, and the BAM Fisher.

Helen Chadwick Song Theatre presents: War Correspondents. Co-directed by Helen Chadwick and Steven Hoggett and composed by Helen Chadwick with creative Aassociate Miriam Nabarro, the show goes on a National Tour, 10th to 25th October 2014, with a stop at Stratford Circus on 10th and 11th October. Press night is Friday 10th October.

Randy James' all male dance company, 10 Hairy Legs continues the company's aggressive repertory expansion in its third season exploring the range of the male dancer, adding 8 new works to its already extensive list.

And though, as in the last two years, we had four dancers still standing at the beginning of the night, for the first time since 2011, there was only one winner announced. Gone are the days of not having to choose between our favorite male and female dancers; this time, only one gets to take home the title of 'America's Favorite Dancer.'

Bryn Mawr Performing Arts Series announces its season of five productions of music, dance, theater and film. The season features a Shakespeare Birthday Bash, Camille A. Brown & Dancers, a two-night festival of performance artists, the Jasper String Quartet, and singer/songwriter Emel Mathlouthi. All performances are held on the campus of Bryn Mawr College, located at 101 North Merion Avenue in Bryn Mawr, PA.

In announcing the first season of concerts curated under her artistic directorship Lisa Bielawa has made public details of the 40-voice, Grammy Award-winning San Francisco Girls Chorus 2014-2015 season. The season of five programs will run October 4, 2014 through June 5, 2015 and be capped off by a tour to Nordic countries including Estonia, Finland and Sweden. The season concerts will be conducted by Music Director Valerie Sainte-Agathe and will highlight music by Amy Beach, Lili Boulanger, Carla Kihlstedt Schubert, Beethoven, Handel, Vaughan Williams, Ralf Yusuf Gawlick, Philip Glass, John Adams, John Cage, Lou Harrison, Meredith Monk and others and feature guest artists including pianistJon Nakamatsu and violinist/composer Carla Kihlstedt. Of particular note will be the West Coast premiere of Kinderkreuzzug (2010), an anti-war cantata by German-Turkish composer Ralf Yusuf Gawlick set on a 1941 poem by Bertoldt Brecht. In addition to the annual Davies Hall holiday concert, the Girls Chorus this year will collaborate with New Century Chamber Orchestra for seasonal performances. Bang on a Can: Other Primary Structures, a concert featuring Bang on a Can All-Stars Vicky Chow (piano) and David Cossin (percussion) with Dither Quartet guitarists Taylor Levine and James Moore, will take place at the Jewish Museum on Thursday, July 10 at 7:30pm. This program is the first auditorium concert of the Jewish Museum and Bang on a Can's new partnership to produce a series of dynamic musical performances at the Museum from June 2014 to May 2015, inspired by the Jewish Museum's diverse slate of exhibitions.
